| Just returned from a long weekend break at the Concord Hotel in Torquay. We had a good time but the hotel is well run down. The room we were allocated was a small shabby room which smelt of foist and damp also without double glazing so you heard every car, truck and bus that went by, it was like sleeping on a dual carraige way. We asked to be moved but because the hotel was full we had to stay there. The following day we went to buy some earplugs which did the trick. Food was good as was the evening entertainment. Christine served at the bar, and she was a very good and friendly bamaid she new what drinks each one wanted and had their drink ready as soon as they stood up. It was just a shame it has been so run down that it will take a lot of love and care to get it back looking nice.
Would not want to stay here again unless they cleaned it up

| We stayed at the Hotel Concorde in Torquay over the new year period and had an absolutly fantastic time. Very welcoming, plenty of room to relax in lounges, good food, an excellent bar with good cheerful staff. A sense of hunour abounds and we know for a fact that the rooms will be modernised as soon as possible and the bar has already been done even though the new owners have only been there seven weeks. Thoroughly recommend it and we will certainly be going back.

Yes everything I have said was true, the room we were allocated was up a few stairs then down again on a landing it was rotten, the bathroom was non existant a wee small wash basin in the corner and a shower that had a door that wouldnt close, window frames that were mouldy, but as I say we did have good time. The new owners moved in the week we were there and met with them for chat, they are a nice family and will have there work cut out to get it back to how it should be. Hope they have it renovated intime for you. It does need a lot of money spent on it. It does have a great lounge with all antiques stuff and could be beautiful. The food was good, staff pleasant just the scruffy room put us off and the noisy traffic.
Hope you enjoy it and keep us informed of the progress made in case we return.

| Hi, I recently had a great stay at the Concorde Hotel. It's under new ownership and it is obvious from the quality of the refurbishments that the owners have already started putting their personal stamp on the hotel. It's a really friendly, family-run hotel and what I particularly liked was the fact the family take all their meals in the main dining room - what better endorsement do you need, not only of the quality of food, but also of their hospitality. The room was clean and comfortable and excellent value. I look forward to going back in the summer to enjoy the pool and lovely gardens.

| Hi my parents have just stayed at Concorde Hotel, Torquay and had a lovely stay apart from the ghosts in their hotel room last night!! They both had separate encounters in their room last night when they were asleep , (1)by male ghosts surrounding the bed and (2) by a male ghost shaking them and blowing on them!! They were quite disturbed by the experience!!

| My parents stayed in a room in the basement, near to the bar, that had opening doors to the swimming pool (Room 18). They did have a lovely stay at the hotel and were impressed at the friendliness of the owners and staff.

| I have booked to stay at the Concord Hotel after reading reviews on other sites about this hotel.
It will be my first British Coach Holiday and I must say the reviews I have read on the Concord helped me make my mind up to try this.
I have booked for my husband and another couple and we arrive on Monday 31st March for 5 days.
I am really looking forward to meeting all of the people I have read about including the lovely girl in the bar. I hope she is are well stocked with my favourite wines.
It will also be my first visit to this part of our country but I am sure it will not be my last.
I will write an update when we return but I am sure it will be favourable.

Torquay is quite a nice place as now its getting a spruce up, there was a lot of re building / refurbishing around the resort but it has some good veiws.
