BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE RIP OFF.....????

Postby ewansauntie on Thu Aug 07, 2008 9:17 am

Help..... We booked a holiday through Thomas Cook to Zante, flying with Monarch Airlines. We were told the baggage allowance is 15kg, but if we paid £15 each we could then take 20kg on the flght.

On checking Monarch Airlines baggage allowance, their standard allowance is 20kg..............so why are Thomas Cook charging for an extra 5kg??????

BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE RIP OFF.....????

I saw something similar last year but can't remember who the tour operator was. There were 2 websites which both linked to the same underlying company. The crazy thing was that, as above, one offered 20kg whilst the other was 15kg. Even more ridiculous was that the price for 20kg was lower than 15kg.
If makes absolutely no sense.

Apparently this is now normal procedure to charge extra but I have heard that the practice is being looked into.
Thomson charge for any baggage in the hold but allow you 5kg hand luggage which you keep in the hold. What´s the difference . Its all weight in the plane wherever it is-JUST A MONEY MAKING SCAM
