Beware of (Going On Holiday Ltd). Manchester. On Monday 4th August Took my daughter to Turkey for £500pp for one week, not in accommodation that she booked. Manager of apartments where the coach took her, allowed her to stay till she sorted it with agent. (Going On HolidayLtd) could not find the booking and did not know who made the booking. They said they would try and find alternative accommodation.
Numerous calls and two e mails later i have heard nothing. Now manager of apartments last night said his booking for the room had arrived. My daughter and boyfriend had to leave and stayed at the managers friends last night. (my worst nightmare)
Tonight they have no booking from (Going On Holiday Ltd) anywhere, because i am informed it is peak season. How is it possible that travel agents can get away with this? My daughter booked a hotel, where is the room she paid for? Again this morning i will ring (Going On Holiday Ltd) and fight for somewhere for my daughter to stay until she flies back on Monday, I will be looking for a refund for their accommodation when i have their paperwork. Wish me luck!

I SECOND THAT VERY STRONGLY - DO NOT BOOK YOUR HOLIDAY WITH GOING ON HOLIDAY LTD

I have just returned back from Crete which has been the worst holiday of my life becaue of this holiday company with there extremely poor hotels that are advertised as 4* when they would be lucky to scrape by as a 2* and also there unique way they like to handle complaints..... BY IGNORING THE CUSTOMER and never calling back!!!

I arriveed at the Heronissoss Hotel in Hersonissos Crete on 23rd June 2009 with high hopes of my 4* all inclusive being a dream holiday that I had booked for me and my best friend, I had seen the holiday on line, I looked at the pictures of the hotel and read all the info and was really excited about going......

IT WAS A HOLIDAY FROM HELL.

I am not going to stop until I get my money back from Going on Holiday Ltd, AND that I get the Heronissos Hotel being advertised as a 2* AND NOT A 4* as this is its true standard..... and that is being generous. WHAT A DIVE!

From Sarah in Swindon Wilts..... Back from holiday more stressed than when she went.... so much for the dream holiday aye..... cheers Going on Holiday Ltd!!!

Dear Sarah

I had a similar experience this year. We went with my husband for our dream honeymoon to Rhodes, ended up stressed and upset. We meant to stay in a 5 star hotel - Costa Lindia, which looked rather like a 2/3 star s*** hole, we were treated like dust on the floor, very unwelcoming, unfriendly, not professional and on top of everything we almost got food poisoning as we found fried fly and hair in our meal - total diaster!!!. We wrote two letters of complaint to the company but we had no answer.
How did you get on with getting your compansation?
Have you got any advice for us.
Regards
Anna from Norwich

I've just come home from Ibiza. We booked through a subsidiary of Going on Holiday Ltd and I have to say we had absolutely no problems whatsoever. Flights, passport confirmation, transfer, accommodation all booked through these agents and everything went swimmingly.

Re Going on Holiday Ltd(Manchester)
Booked with this company, what a mistake !
I booked a four star all inclusive holiday in Fuetaventura for my family four adults and four children.
When we arrived the accomodation was a very poor 3 star.
After three days of complaining I had to pay nearly £800.00 to be moved to where we should have been, with a promise from'Going on Holiday' that it would be refunded when we returned to home.
After an eight month battle and a trial date in the Couny Court, they settled.
Never Ever Book with this company
Customer service 0 out of 10
Almost impossible to contact by phone,
Totally unhelpful, and whilst we were on holiday gave us loads of excuses, for insatne it was the room suppliers fault no there's , numerous promises to sort it out and ring me back.....It never happened.
If you are not happy or have been mis-sold a holiday, go to the County Court its a dead easy process, and you only have to prove your case 51% in your favour and you win.
If anyone needs advice in order to do this contact me

I'm just about to go in dispute with this company and we haven't even been on our holiday yet!

I won't go into too much detail yet as I don't want to jeopardise my case, but my warning would be to anyone - DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!.

They lie, pass the buck, don't return your calls. They advertise a fax number, which I was later told didn't exist, so it's really hard if not impossible getting hold of anyone.

I can think of many words at the moment to describe what I think of GOING ON HOLIDAY LTD - but I'll keep them to myself so I don't get thrown off the forum.lol

just used going on holiday, but booked in my preffered hotel at Ayia Napa Cyprus through these agents,i have to admit after reading these reviews i was afraid of a hiccup and my holiday spoilt, and the build up to the holiday wasnt something i was looking forward to,We were away for 10 days my partner and myself, the flight and the hotel was well organised and at a very realistic price, and in my case would have no problems using Going On Holiday again!!!

Do not book with this lot. Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with and I don't think they actually know what they are doing or they are retarded. Once they have your money you will never hear from them again.

I booked through the Teletext website and had to call, and they did not say they were in fact Going On Holiday Ltd when they answered the phone.

I booked with them towards the end of 2011, I gave all my contact details and spelt out my email address twice to make sure I received confirmation all was booked and for our tickets. I said it was important they did not get the wrong email address as it would go to another person.

They rang back about 40 minutes later to say they had got my email address wrong and that I wouldn't get confirmation until it had been changed which would be tomorrow.

By the end of that week I still had not heard anything so rang back and was told the person I spoke to was busy and would call me back. They did not call back.

Three days later I called back and it said this number was no longer in operation. At first I thought I had been scammed somehow. So I had to find another number which I got off Teletext. When I called again I was told someone would call me back who never did.

After 3 weeks of numerous phone calls I was on the verge of giving up, when I spoke to another staff member and again asked where the confirmation was. I was told it had been sent to the email address on record which she reeled off and guess what it was still the wrong email address.

I worked out that they did not change my email address as they had booked me with Ryanair for the flights and they would charge for the change of details. So they lied to me for 3 weeks.

Thanks to this cowboy operation I very nearly didn't go on holiday. I had to check in on the Ryanair site using the wrong email address as they could not be bothered to correct their mistake.

If you want to book a stress free holiday book anywhere else but here.
