Arrived in Turkey after booking an all inclusive holiday and what looked like a first class hotel. Needless to say on arrival hotel was fully booked and the local agents put us in the Regal Resort Bodrum which was an absolute nightmare. Got nowhere with the local agent and telephoned to Imperial Travel several times but were unwilling or unable to help untill we got home. We then left the regal and spent the price of the holiday again on alternative accomodation. When home made a complaint which was the usual round of passing you from one person and one company together. I phoned yesterday to find out how they are getting on with my complaint and they say they are going to settle. We will see what happens.

I have just booked up with this Company again this time to Gran Canaria...but having difficulty in getting them to answer the phone in order for me to make another payment!!!....We booked with them in October last year to Rhodes and the only problem we had was that the original hotel was closed for the season, but I have to admit the Company did phone to inform us of this (albeit only 2 days before departure!) but we did get another all inclusive hotel in same location. Now I am reading your reviews on here...I am a bit concerned....should I be????...our holiday this time is for 5 people and I would hate for it to be ruined!!!!! any advice?
Thanks
Sue

We are booked to go to Egypt on the 23 March 2008. We found the holiday on the Internet and when we booked found out it was with Imperial Travel. Our tickets arrived last Saturday (we are flying with Thomsons) but Imperial Travel booked the flights, hotel etc. On the tickets is says "no hold luggage booked". We have rang Thomsons but they say we have to ring Imperial Travel. We eventually got through to them to be told that we didnt book luggage on the flight!!! Im sorry but who goes on a 2 week package holiday without luggage?? We were advised that they would amend Thomson computer and will send us a letter to take to the airport to allow us to take luggage with us. We have still not received this letter. Getting very worried now.

McGill - i havent used Imperial travel before but the Thomson hold luggage charge is now standard for nearly every flight they do. You should hopefully have been prompted somewhere through the booking process to add this on.
Personally i think this is one of the most underhanded things Thomson have done in a while. While it is OK to go on an easy jet flight, for example, without hold luggage as they allow 10kgs hand luggage so you could feasibly go on your hols with just hand luggage. However thomson still only allow just 5kgs hand luggage which is simply not enough even for a weekend never mind the 7 / 14 night flights which are more usual.
If your holiday company lets you down you can add on your hold baggage at the airport with Thomson though i belive it is at double the cost.

Dear Yogi Bear
Thank you for your reply. We did contact Thomson holidays but they informed us that it is down to Imperial Travel to add on luggage details. We didnt actually book the holiday on the Net we had to ring a number and actually speak to someone to book the flight and hotel. They turned out to be Imperial Travel! Hence it was them that have ****** up, they didnt ask us about luggage (we never thought anything of it as if you are booking a 2 week holiday surely it is obvious that you would be taking suitcases with you)!. I will keep you all informed as to the outcome - looks like we will have to put a load of clothing on to last the duration of the holiday!
