Skybargains
Just had a letter this morning from ABTA informing me that the company (Skybargains/Worldwide Travel) who I had booked my September flights to cyprus with have ceased trading, I have been in touch with the tour operator I was given on the letter by phone and quoted my booking ref, I have been assured that everything is in order, my flights are OK, and tickets will be sent direct to me very shortly.
PANIC over hopefully, not the 1st time this has happened, got told a couple of years ago, 5 days prior to departure that my flights had been cancelled

I booked accommodation with SkyBargains for 4 nights in Benidorm in October, I learned from the Web site that they had gone into liquidation and rang the number on the site which was ABTA. I was told that there were legal problems with my tour operator and they weren't neccessarily going to honour the booking but it had gone legal so call back in a few days which I did and was told the tour operator should honour the holiday. I rang the tour operator Onholidaygroup.com and they said they hadn't received the payment so wouldn't honour the accommodation, but I could book through them now and pay again! - don't think so! I received a letter from ABTA saying that my accommodation was booked and should contact the tour operator and sent me two numbers, one of which was in Spain.I rang the British number and given another number in Spain ,I rang and spoke to Bergona Marterell who wasn't aware of the problems with Skybargains but confirmed she had the booking. She asked me to e-mail the details which I did and she replied giving me further phone numbers in England which turned out to be Onholidaygroup. I rang last Friday and was told that the lady who deals with this wouldn't be in the office till today Monday but not to worry my holiday was booked and I wouldn't have to pay again and she would pass my message on. Got an e-mail today asking me to call and re-book and pay for my holiday again. Paid by Visa Debit Card so no joy there with the Halifax. Just had the runaround by all concerned.

I'm so lucky.
In April we were looking at flights to Madeira where we have a timeshare apartment (since Aug 2007). We were looking at SkyBargains and Hots4holidays. SKybargains phoned us up whilst we were looking at their website (spooky!) but we decided to go with hot4holidays as they were about £20 cheaper. I'm glad we didn't go with Skybargains as we's be in a worse situation than we are now.
Having said that, here we are three days before the flight and still no tickets from Hot4holidays. They keep saying it's in the post (has been since Monday!) and that we will get an email with an e-ticket instead if they don't turn up.
Can anyone help? Will we still be able to fly? We're going with First Choice, 6am from Manchester to Funchal.
Also has anyone else booked through hot4holidays and had this trouble?

I have also been having problems regarding booking through skybargains. Luckily my flights were safe. However,I also booked car rental and am having trouble getting money back. I have contacted consumer direct however and they informed me, that skybargains were acting as a representative of the tour operator, regardless of them receiving payment or not from skybargains, the tour operator is responsible for the bookings and such should honour your booking. Contact Consumer Direct online at www.consumerdirect.gov.uk or telephone 08454 04 05 06. Hope this helps you.
