Sunmaster.co.uk SNEAKY PRICE CHANGES

I too almost fell foul of sunmaster. Today i booked ,wel thought Id booked a holiday i gave my card details VERY WORRYING !! and then six hours later got my call from Sinmaster saying they needed to check availability. I was concerned as i had allready purchased my transfers and insurance. i was then told due to XL airways going bust that the air fare with Thomas Cook Airways had increased to £100 more and the price of the holiday had increased in total to £120 more. i told them to forget it as i was on a btight budget. I vwas very dissappointed and feared I wouldnt be able to afford to go ....however lo and behold on checking Thomas Cooks website I found that the fare had not increased at all !! I did guess straight away that it was a ploy to get more money for the holiday and wanted to say to anyone thinking of booking with them not to bother its cheaper elsewhere !!! even though it may not seem so at first. To be fair to them they were polite though and cancelled my request immediately v(maybe something to do with the fact I work in the travel industrymyself )

hi interesting, i booked last sunday and was charged an extra 82pounds
it is also a concern that you say they are not atol protected.
to late for me, but why do they get away with it ???
they will go out of buisness anyway for there dishonesty

I have just booked a holiday on behalf of my parents who are old age pensioners, the internet price which was confirmed by email to me was £604.75.
They telephone my parents the next day and told them they had to pay an extra £40 each or they would lose there holiday, am bloody disgusted at these bully tactics I then recieved there confirmation by stating the holday is now £689 after they took a deposit from my parents so they cant back out.
What can we do to stop this ?

i booked a holiday online on friday and paid with my credit card so thought the deal was signed and sealed. i immediately received an email saying that sunmaster were going to ring me to confirm details which immediately rung alarm bells as i have booked with them before and they didnt do this. I was right to be suspicios they told me that the holiday i had booked was not available but one was available at £100 dearer. i was desperate so booked the room but in retrospect i am so annoyed especially as the cheaper holiday which i had booked is STILL being adertised on the website 4 days after they told me that it is no longer available. i have heard of other people having the same problem, they cover themselves by saying the prices may change from the ones shown on the website(never lower i suspect)but i think it is bad practise. i have emailed sunmaster to complain but doubt any action will be taken. they are covered by ATOL but when you go on ATOL website they tell you that they only cover companies which have gone bust... great !!!!!

I'm looking to book a holiday for myself and some friends and I came across Sunmaster.co.uk

I cant afford to be ripped off so on finding the site I immediately did some research into the Company.

There are two reference numbers on their website. The first is Agent number T3127 for Global Travel Group. The second is 2871028. Neither of these numbers bring up any results on the ATOL website. So I tried typing in Sunmaster with no joy, when I typed in Global Travel Group, two results did come up. Both links lead to the same page and are registered under the ATOL number 3973. There is a list of their Trading Names and Sunmaster is not listed under either page.
Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, Sunmaster isn't a legally registered site and is therefore probably nmot trustworthy.

DON'T LET THE CHEAP PRICES PERSUADE YOU TO TAKE THE RISK. IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!!
AND WITH THE OTHER ACCUSATIONS OF PRICE CHANGES IT WILL BE SAFER AND CHEAPER TO USE THE WELL KNOWN AGENTS.

I have used Sunmaster for the past 5 years and have booked approx 10 or so holidays with them and found them nothing short of excellent. Their prices are still much less than others. You don't even need to go through their website to book a holiday. If you know which hotel/resort you want to go to, just call them and they will set up the flights, transfers and accomodation. I have booked to go 5* all inclusive to hotel turquoise in Sorgun/Side in Turkey to £1900 for four adults. Nearest competitions price was £3800 with Thompson! Big difference. I have always found Sunmaster cheaper than anyone else. And remember, always pay with A credit card and you are covered. Regards, Chris

i very disgusted.i already lost my holiday when freedom went bust so me and my gf and a mate looked on line found sunmasters.co.uk

the price on we seen was great so we booked it
then there was email saying we will call you confirm booking over phone
they did this and the holiday price had gone up overnight by over £200.00
going form £1700.00 to over £1900.00 so i phone up see how they say site is not live yet after i wathced the site all week it appears they advertise holidays at a reasonable cost they when a booking is made put it up on the site and then after all is confirmed they reduce the site prices again .
not only that but some the companies sunmasters use are not atol covered there excuse for that is that those companies have been round years and years and they cant see them going bust yet in this day and age no company is safe no matter how long been round



i my self would not reccomend people travel with them

have just claimed to me via email they are covered by atol 3973 this is untrue
as that number covers globallatedeals and all the trading names that is list along global on the atol site

so there form it appears to me that sunmasters are false advertising when they claim to me atol protected

i my self have not gathered enough information and passing it on to my solicitor

i would advise people not to enter into transactions with sunmasters.co.uk


they also say they coevered by global how ever they are same company

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY THEY HAVE NOT ONLY HICKED UP THE PRICE OF THE HOLIDAY,BUT THEY HAVE ALSO LIED TO GET THE SALE. WE WERE INTERESTED IN A BRAND NEW HOTEL IN RHODES WHICH A FEW TRAVEL COMPANIES WERE SELLING..SUNMASTER CAME IN AT THE BEST PRICE BUT WE STILL HAD OUR CONCERNS JUST INCASE THE HOTEL WASNT READY. THIS WAS APRIL 09,THE SALES PERSON ASURRED US THAT IT WAS ALMOST READY AND IF IT WASNT THEN WE WOULD GET A FULL REFUND..A FEW WEEKS AGO I JOINED A FORUM ON TRIP ADVISOR WITH A GOOD FEW PEOPLE CONCERNED THAT THE ACCOMODATION WASNT BUILT..A GENT FROM ENGLAND LIVES 2 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND HE TOOK PHOTOS OF THE BUILDING SITE SO CALLED OUR HOTEL..IT WAS ONLY IN THE FIRST STAGES OF BUILDING 4 WEEKS AGO.. WE INFORMED SUNMASTER OF OUR PROGRESS AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD ONLY REFUND THE ACCOMODATION NOT THE FLIGHT EVEN THOUGH THE SALES PERSON HAD REASURED US (THERE WAS NO OTHER ACCOMODATION ****** OUR NEEDS THATS WHY WE WERE RELUCTANT TO BOOK IN THE FIRST PLACE) WE ARE NOW LUMBERED WITH A HOLIDAY THAT WE ARE NOT WANTING TO GO ON AND A PRICE THAT HAS RISEN CONCIDERABLY..VERY ABUSIVE STAFF AND APAULLING CUSTOMER SERVICE TOO.BEWARE:::::

can anybody confirm if anybody has lost out on there holidays through sunmasters or is it just the price hike
