The price is also very cheap so i thought i better do some research before booking

Thanks

hi charley, ive been checking on them and they are ABTA bonded and deal with tour companies that are ATOL registered.

ive checked with companies house and the are regestered and all accounts are in order, they have been going since august 2004.

so i would say everything is in order, its your choice what you do next.

Hi Charley

Have you booked with them yet? I booked a holiday with them and they have made a complete mess of all of our details, names completely wrong on the flights (the advisor told me that this would be absolutely fine i.e. to board the plane with a passport in a different name from the booking!); I was told this was all my mistake because of my Scottish accent "it's difficult to make you people out when yo speak", there are people missing from the hotel voucher, the price shown on teletext is not price you pay (lots of extras),

I an having no joy at all trying to get the mess they have made of our details sorted... customer advisors completely incompetent, rude and aggresive telling me I would need to pay the £160 to correct the mistake they made on our booking and that's just for the flights not even discussed the hotel mistakes which are worse again!! He basicaly told me in a roundabout way to f*ck off, told me he was the supervisor when I asked to speak with a team leader and said there were no managers working that day or the next day ...I could go on. I called again on Friday after giving them over two weeks to sort the mess out and they said they would have it sorted on Friday and call me back...and guess what? I checked the details online (they book the flights via Ryanair) and they are still wrong!! I am losing sleep worrying about whether or not they are going to fix everything before we go...I found a site with other peoples reviews of the company where the majority of people are also advising not to use them.

I have know idea if ABTA can do anything if I write to them as apparently even the MD of the company is no good either!!

Here's the link to the othe site I mentioned....DO NOT USE THEM!!

I hope this helps and I hope you haven't booked anything with them yet??

Hi Charley. We booked our holiday last november to Egypt through teletext holidays with bookable holidays. The hotel was really appalling, as was the rep in the resort, so we duly took photos etc ready to make our complaint to Bookable, who were shown as been ABTA bonded on the website and paperwork that we subsequently received.
When we complained to Bookable, we got absolutely no response except for a standard;'we are investigating' letter. We heard nothing for months at a time (despite the ABTA code of conuct requiring strict timelines/guidelines to be followed). We heard from them twice in over 6 months, only in response to our enquiries, both letters being exactly the same from them.
When we complained to ABTA, we were informed by Abta that Bookable (although indeed our travel agent) was acting only as an agent and our booking had been 'passed' to a company called Medlife. Needless to say they are not Abta registered and we have no comeback.Be very wary if you are booking through the same method. We have used teletext holidays alot in the past, but we were well and truly caught out on this one. As for Bookable, they couldnt have been more obstructive or uninterested if they tried and I would seriously avoid them. Hope it helps. Phil

Hi Charley,

My name is Thomas and I work for Bookable Holidays, first of all let me apologise for not responding to your forum sooner, we have had a very busy summer. I am disappointed to hear that Dimple and Phil did not have a good experience with us and I can guarantee that this is not a normal response that we receive from our customers. We do however book a vast amount of passengers per year and we have had a very good response from the majority but it is still disappointing to hear that a minority have not received the service that we do strive to achieve and if Dimple and Phil would like to get in contact with me I will endeavour to resolve any issues they may have as customer care is defiantly top of our priority list.
This year has been a great year for Bookable Holidays; on the 10th of September Bookable Holidays won the highest awards in travel, the TTG Travel Company of the year 2008. The link below will take you to the winner’s page on the Travel Trade Gazette website.

I hope that in answering your forum I have gone a little way to show you that Bookable Holidays are a reputable company that is dedicated to offering customers a great value for money holiday as well as providing a high level of customer service.

Thank you for taking the time to read this forum and I hope Bookable Holidays can look forward to your custom in the future.

Thomas

I think their after sales service is non existent. Not only did they get the sole traveller details wrong, but when requesting to cancel they mis worded and email thus losing all refund as it was too late.

i booked a holiday in february via bookable holidays, i paid a deposit and the remaining was due in may/early june. they said they would contact me regarding paying the remainder of the holiday. i heard nothing from them.nothing by post, nothing be email and nothing by telephone. ive sent them 4 messages via their website, again i have had no response. they have no telephone number on their website, i am at my wits end as i have no way of contacting them, they have my deposit and feel that i have no way of contacting them to pay the remainder, thats if the holiday is actually legitimate!! initially when i booked with them, they sent me a letter with incorrect names on, they also over charged us, adding extra baggage charges thet we didnt agree to. i absolutly have no idea what to do next. can anyone provide me with a contact number for this company??
