Thomson Shops - currency exchange

Today my daughter stood in a queue for ages in her lunch hour at a Thomsons exchange desk. She changed some us dollars for Euro. As she was stufffing the receipt into her bag the assistant said something about putting the 'buyback' charge on the transaction. On inspecting the receipt when she got back to work she had been charged £3.50 'buyback fee' in case she wants to return any of the currency she is guaranteed the same exchange rate. As she only got €140 she will not be taking any back.

She is just fuming that she has been deceived and misled. She heard someone else being charged over £6 so I don't know if they have a scale of charges.

Anyway she complained strongly by phone and was told Tui have directed their stores to operate like this. She can go and get a refund tomorrow if she wants to waste half her dinner hour again!

I just think this is disgusting. What an underhand way to treat your customers! How many of them do not even realise they have paid this fee?
