OK, here's my comment regarding tour operators. Families beware!!!
I have discovered that when searching online for a 'family friendly' self catering holiday with the top tour operators, it will probably cost a family of 2 adults and 2 children more than the exact same holiday, booked through the same operator at the exact same time, for a party of 4 adults.
I have been informed but the tour operators that I have queried this with that children do not count towards the occupancy of the room, from a pricing point of view (no, they won't let you book 2 adults and 2 children in a room designed for 2), and so under occupancy charges are incurred. The charges plus the 'discounted' child price will work out more than the standard adult price. The cost of a two week holiday during July and August can be up to 200+ more for the family.
If need be, you can book your children as adults to save money. Although It was suggested that the child may not then get a child meal on the flight. If your saving up to 200+, who cares?
Legally, they can charge what they like and it is up to the consumer to check. If you're booking online or at a travel agent make sure you really are getting the deal that is best for you.
All the best,
Darren

I´m not into travel agents.
I always book my holidays on my own via internet.
So I can book everything I like to.
And it´s ofter cheaper .. because they don´t want a fee..
