Hi to every1!!!

Just wanna describe my expiriense with Travel Republic. We was lookong for holidaj in Majorca all over the I-net. And I can tell you... better FEAR deal for hotel prices than at TR we couldn't find... We booked a 4 star hotel in Majorca throuh TR. We'we got booking confirmation and hotel voucher the same day and no extra charge for room with see view. Next day, after reading all this posts, we rang to hotel just for double check our boocking... and... hotel confirm our boocking... TR can get 10 out of 10 points from us... I think it's fear that they got at least one good comment from a customer. Usually we dont bother to write a good feedback and always up for negative feedback. It's not fear!!!

Let me give you a cople of tips how to get a holidays you want at a cheaper price:
The most common problem of the users on this site is that their LAZY... You book your holiday package instead book it separate. Tour operators always advertise a minimal prise for their holiday packages to make it too attractive... you have to remeber it... this were the extra carges comes from after booking...

The usual holiday package includes: HOTEL, FLIGHT, TRANSFER, TRAVEL INSURANCE.
There it is:
1: HOTEL
Search the web for the hotel/resort wou wanna go to. Once you foud it write the price of it on the pice of paper. You allways can find a better deal on the I-net. Read review for the hotel first to not be disapointed. Usually the final price for the hotel booking you can find at the very last page of the booking process called "Confirm Your Booking". You won't pay more than it stated there.
Allways make a couple of screenshoots to proove your booking if you will need to. Send this screenshots to your e-mail that you will get access at any place in the world. Allways ring to the hotel for double check your boocking even if you get your hotel voucher.
2: FLIGHT
Once again... search the flight you need (Tour operators do the same things). Once you find one, check all options they offer you.
For ex: If just 2 of you travel you can reduce price of your flight just using one baggage between you. This can save you a 20 quit.
Do not bye travel insurance from them.... there is no benefits for you if the plane get crashed. ;)
Do online check-in... another 40 quit
Don't bye any meal on the flight, usually its rubbish...
Check every type of payment cards, they do not charge for some of them like Visa Electron at the Ryanair... But you allways will be charged for using a credit card.
Once again... don't bay any extras...
3: TRANSFER
You can book it at  http://www.holidaytaxis.com/  http://www.resorthoppa.com/ or any other web site. Just tape in google "holiday transfer" and it will give you a loads of options...
4: TRAVEL INSURANCE
Once again... search the web... you can get insurance just for 5 quid per person for a week holidays in europe...

P.S. Before you boock your hotel check flight prices... you might moove your holidays just for one day and save over a 100 quid... Like if you book your holidays not from friday to friday but from thursday to thursday...

There is some adwantage of this method... You know what you got; you can be sure that it's booked and not double booked; there is no one to blame just you; you can buld your holidays as you want it.
Only disadvantage: It takes a little bit more time than just boock holidays package from tour operator...

Best of luck to every one!!! Happy holidays!!!
Max. ;)

Hi Hughesjs, have you managed to sort baggage now? If not, please send me a private message with your booking ref and I will see what has happened. We try and make sure all flight providers that charge for baggage are clearly flagged during the booking process. I need to check that happened for your provider, as it sounds like it might not have worked.

Send me a PM and I will see what I can do for you.

Hi everyone. I just want to tell you about my recent experience with travel republic.

we booked a holiday to florida. unfortunately our circumstances changed and we wanted to cancel 6 days after the booking had been made. if you think about it this is not a third world country and we supposedly have consumer rights which entitle everyone to a refund within a week of a distance transaction.

i was on hold the phone for ages only to find out that there is a cancellation fee of - wait for it - 75per cent!

Spoke to Mark the admin manager and after long time on the phone he finally decided it would be ok to change the holiday to a different one for a charge of 50 pounds per changed flight.

However we are not going to get a penny back from thompson who they booked the flights through but we can try to exchange these flights for a charge to thompson flights to a different destination.

85 pounds phone top up later we managed - or so we thought - to book another holiday instead flights being thompson flights.

So that was time to celebrate we thought...

Until we received a very confusing email. so once again i called travel republic only to find out that the replacement holiday has NOT BEEN BOOKED because thompson would agree to change our flights only to ones flying before and not after our original date. why did Carla at sales not tell us that right away? why did they not let us know that the booking has not been made?

At travel republic it seems that everyone has a different version...

So again we do not have a clue what is happening, we have to wait till Monday because apparently only then can they speak to Thompson...

So frustrating...

Beware everyone...

Hi Has anyone had any problems recently with Travel Republic & their baggage allowance?

We booked early May, but after the 4th when apparently the rules changed and you have to pay extra for baggage. The web site, I am certain, stated at the time that you had 15kgs with Flythomas Cook. I'm getting frustrated with their inability to provide me with my original booking form to see if this was in fact my error

Do not book with travel republic they may be ABTA approved but the people they deal with are not. They will take your money and not provide the service they promise and when you complain they will pass you compliant to the non ABTA people they deal with who will do nothing. and ABTA can nothing to sort them out.
