Re: Travel Republic website
You can be 100% reassured in using Travel Republic.UK. I am not from the UK but I am happy to use the site for its diverse selections of hotels and its good pricing. I just wish that I could utilize them for my airline reservations and all inclusive vacations. I bet you save a lot of money through their agency. I have used Travel Republic twice and am very pleased with their service. And accolades to Steve who went above and beyond to help me sort out a BIG problem with using my credit card. I definitely think that they offer a good price and good service. Do not hesitate to use Travel Republic, I am sure you will be very pleased as I am/was.

Travel Republic gets court summons over ATOL breach
The CAA has started legal proceedings against Travel Republic relating to alleged breaches of the ATOL regulations.
The news came as the CAA said it was taking action against agents who had illegally sold flights of failed XL Leisure companies Freedom Flights and Pure Flights as part of packages (see separate story).
The action, which is also against the company's managing director Kane Pirie, is over claims that on a number of occasions throughout 2008, Travel Republic broke Regulation 3 (1A) (a) of the regulations.
Westminster Magistrates Court has issued 20 summonses against Travel Republic Limited and a further 20 against Pirie, following information from the CAA.
The first hearing date will be February 11.
Travel Republic was unavailable for comment.
The CAA's action was welcomed by TUI and the Travel Trust Association. See separate story.

Re: Travel Republic website
Yeah becareful with travel Rep, they are being taken to court, as mentioned above, if found guilty, which they will be, they face an unlimeted fine or 2 years in prison.
Always make sure the agent you are booking with is fully atol protected and abta protected. Some will say we use stol protected operators, that means nothing, if your holiday is not fully protected, you will loose money on the hotel and trnasfer booking as well as the possibility of loosing on your flight, if the caa decide not to pay out the atol claim.

Re: Travel Republic website
Hi steve321
Let me move on. All customers who booked flights with XL through TravelRepublic are having their claims honoured by the CAA.
In the meantime TravelRepublic have introduced Total Financial Protection, which does what it says on the tin and protects all the booked components of your holiday. It includes ANY type of flight booking (charter, no frills or scheduled) and all accommodation bookings. TravelRepublic remains a member of ABTA so that is the final link ensuring your money is safe.
The details of the protection is here
