Just returned from a Villa Plus holiday at the Villa Jose, Javea/Xabia, Costa Blanca. Overall assessment was good. The information pack received prior to travelling was good and included excellent directions to the villa and we were even provided with torches should we arrive at night. Villa Jose is a 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom property. It was in a nice locality, reasonably spacious and adequately furnished although the settees in the lounge appeared dirty. The kitchen was average, however the oven did not heat to an adequate temperature, one of the rings on the hob did not work properly and there was a strange smell from one of the cupboards. The outdoor swimming pool was an adequate size but was never heated until the arrival of the pool maintenance man midweek who sorted it during his thorough cleaning of the pool. The terrace to the rear of the house and the stairs leading therefrom to the pool area was in need of repair as some tiles were broken and missing. The villa was cleaned midweek however our towels were not changed as suggested and even after 2 'phone calls we were left with the same towels as initially given for 10 people. The foregoing all seems rather negative but please do not think that it contributed to a bad holiday. Overall the villa was adequate for the cost. Javea itself is a lovely resort and we would certainly return and probably use Villa Plus again.

We booked the Ses Oliveres Villas in Calan Forcat (Menorca) in September 2008 and were disgusted with them. Villas were nothing like the pictures shown on the website. These villas were supposed to have had a refurb but could see no evidence of this - overall feeling/appearance was one of neglect. Gardens were unkept and plants were all dead and left to rot. What should have been grass was a dust bowl that was being used as a toilet by the local cats. The pool was only cleaned once and the pool lights did not work (very unsafe at night). There was no outside lighting whatsoever so could not BBQ in the evening (pitch black by 7.30pm). We had a bath with no taps and the DVD did not work. We felt these villas were EXTREMELY poor value for money. Upon return to UK we wrote a letter of complaint to Villaplus who basically dismissed us. They said the pool lights were fixed whilst we were there which they weren't. They said the bath had a mixer tap which was absolute rubbish - I do know what a mixer tap looks like and how it works! They said the gardens had suffered in the heat - gardens do not suffer from heat they suffer from lack of water besides which we saw lots of other villas in the area with beautiful gardens and green lawns. They said we should have complained to our rep more about the things we were unhappy about. We did complain about the pool lights, the lack of lighting and the DVD but did not see the point in complaining about the taps and the garden as there wasn't much she could do about that (besides which, we were on holiday and were trying to make the best of it and did not wish to be on the phone complaining all the time). When the rep came to sort the DVD there was a problem with the remote control so she took a remote from another DVD player that she had and made a comment to my husband (and I quote) "I will tell the next people (that got the DVD without the remote) that it didn't come with one". That just about says it all about this company as far as I'm concerned. Needless to say, we will not be booking with them again.

We are always disappointed to hear from clients who have not been entirely happy with a particular villa and we have duly noted the comments made by Ms hilstrop, which we have tried to address directly. We accept that during their stay there were some shortcomings, for which we have apologised.
All the pictures shown on our website were recently taken in 2007 and 2008 and we are very comfortable to have it advertised for 2009. We fully accept that we must always take every clients comments on board and continue to do our best to keep on top of all the villa managers who look after the 750 villas that we rent.
We have had positive comments from clients who have holidayed at the villa this year, including those of one of our Director’s family, who chose this villa for their own personal holiday. This is a large and comfortable 6 bedroom villa - not luxurious and not basic - with air conditioned bedrooms, a heated pool and several other facilities, all situated close to the resort centre and beach. It was rented every week from the middle of May to early October in 2008, with one complaint received.

I have travelled to many villas over the years, and with all the usual villa companies. In my opinion there are only 2 villa companies that have a genuine interest us,one of those is Villa Plus, (the other is Solmar Villas). Both of these companies have previously taken the time to ensure we got the right villa for our group and everything was as described. At the end of the day you can't get it right all the time and people will always come on here and right nasty things about a company if they don't get what they want or the slightest little thing is wrong, I wonder if they put positive comments on about any holidays they have? Mallorcan Farmhouses were good too, although the villa are a bit out of the way and booking complicated. Villaparade are just so over priced it's unbelievable and James Villas don't seem to have a lot in a good location. That's my opinion anyway. As I say I've tried lots and only ever been impressed by a few.

Villa Plus has a dedicated service centre in each overseas resort. Our representatives are unobtrusive but are only a telephone call away if assistance or advice is required and a personal visit to a villa is easily arranged.
Each resort also has a 24 hour emergency telephone line where a client can and will get local assistance to ensure that any incident is well managed.
We are well aware that our continued success will always depend on the service and value that we provide our customers with. We will not always get it right 100% of the time, but we will always try very hard to do so.

Just booked with villa plus for the first time. Going to Menorca, Villa Parque in Calan Blanes. Has anybody been before?
Also, we have been asked to register our passports but we are going to an EU country and this seems odd. Has anyone experienced this before?

As your flying to Spain, you have to provide Advanced Passenger Information. You will need to check with your airline as to when you need to provide it as some accept when you are checking in at the airport. Most countries will start asking for this information in the future.
