Has anyone been to Villa Botanica, Costa Del Sol?

Want to check if everything is legitimate and as it looks on website, especially as it is virtually unknown. Many Thanks, D

Thanks to ethansmum for your reply.

We just got back from our holiday and it was FAB!!!! Villa Parque, Calan Blanes, Menorca was very pretty, looked just like it looked on line and the pool area and gardens were all well maintained and clean. The maid and gardener service was regular but not intrusive and the villa was clean, well equipped and it was a real Ronseal holiday...."It did exactly what it said on the tin!"

There were no hitches with the arrangements. The info pack was spot on and gave great directions to the villa which were idiot proof. The car hire arrangements were great too.

This villa was great for people with young families. The layout of the villa is perfect as it is all on one level. The location is perfect as it is in a residential area but opposite a park and near to the beach and shops etc (and nightlife if you want it).

Can't fault it!!

Me and my family have recently returned from Villa Catorce (El Portet/Moraira), which we booked with villa plus.

There were 13 of us all together and we had a wonderful time apart from one thing..... THE VILLA!

On the first day....
My younger brother (age 15) cut his foot in the pool quite deeply due to there being tiles missing from the pool which caused very sharp edges .... alot of tiles were missing and we had a further two accidents throughout the holiday due to the pool being unsafe.

The diswasher broke down. This wasnt fixed for the rest of the holiday so we had 13 people to wash up after every day.

The Villa Plus website states that Villa Catorce is a 7 bedroom villa.... This is bending the truth enormously... on the top floor, there are 4 bedrooms, one with an en suite. On the first Floor, there is one bedroom. Then we get to the groundfloor or should i say basement..... There are two so called "bedrooms" in the basement. It stunk of damp, there was no air conditioning and there were humidifiers in the rooms to try and disguise the smells. It was that bad that we had to take the matresses from downstairs and put them on the floor in the living room for us to sleep because not one person could stand the smell or sleep down there.

Then the pool went green and was out of use for 3 days due to non-cleaning and my brother then got gastro entiritis caused from the dirt of the pool going into his cut which was caused also by the pool.

Then the air conditioning broke down. This was totally not needed. We were already hot and bothered with all of the commotion going on with the villa already so we had to call Villa Plus once again who were too laid back for my liking and they sent us portable air con units until they could get a specialist to fix/replace the units. Great!! IF WE COULD USE THEM!! Every time the units were turned on, the trip switch on the electricity blew so we were out of air conditioning for 4 days!!

The tiles around the pool were so slippery that 2 of our party fell.

One of the bathroom windows would not close.

The pictures on the website are completely different. The villa is actually painted Grey instead of being cream on the pictures.

The bedding is not as fresh as it looks in the pictures. They had ciggarette burns and moth holes in them.

I would call this the holiday from hell and would not wish villa plus on my worst enemy!

Firstly we would like to say that we are concerned to read the comments placed by Kirsty1986 and we admit there were some matters which were not up to the standards that we or our clients should expect. We are already conducting an investigation in to these matters and are having discussions with the owners and villa managers.

Feedback is important to us and on average each comment received from our customers is read by at least four or five different people in the UK and overseas. It is one of the most important parts of our job at Villa Plus and we actively encourage customers to share their experiences with us, good or bad.

We send customer questionnaires to everyone on return from their holiday and the system we have in place helps us monitor the performance of each villa. The information provided is invaluable and any underlying issues brought to our attention can be acted upon.

This particular villa has scored an overall rating of 2.1 this year prior to the arrival of Kirsty1986; 1 being excellent, 2 very good, 3 good, 4 average and 5 poor. However, that does not mean that the comments made by Kirsty1986 are not taken any less seriously or are not valid, clearly there were issues that needed resolving during their stay and were not correct.

Villa Plus has been operating as an independent company for over 22 years. When dealing with over 700 villas, the owners, managers, maids, gardeners, other maintenance personnel and, of course, our clients, we are all too aware that occasionally things can and sometimes do go wrong.

We have just returned from a Villa Plus holiday and we have experienced a similar trip to Kirsty. Our Villa was a shambles. I have just emailed them and i will wait to here from them. The standard "you should have contacte the rep" wont wash as we did and she was useless.

I was very surprised to read the recent review on villa plus. myself and my family spent two weeks in alcudia, mallorca last summer in one of their villas and we had a wonderful holiday. one of our party is disabled and the location of the villa was exactly as described including the indside layout which was vital to us. my husband left his wallet on the incoming flight at which point we contacted our representative who went back to the airport for us ,found the wallet and brought it to our villa which i feel was above what i would have expected.the villa was well maintained and very clean and i would not hesitate to holiday with them again.

Thanks for this Kirsty1986. We went there on Se3pt 5th 09 and cannot agree more. I have complained and they have tried to fob me off with £150! Considering it cost £1500 I suppose they can afford it. The damp was disgusting downstairs. It made us feel sick and we had two children aged 5 and 3 with us. Two people cut their feet in the pool so they have not bothered to rectify that at all although it is dangerous. The surround tiles were very damgerous and not non slip. There was also no upholstery on the sofa cushions which were covered with bedsheets. HOLIDAY FROM HELL IT IS!!! If I don't get a satisfactory response from Vlla Plus I will contact ABTA I will take it as far as it can go. They have a duty of care to their customers to let a safe place not this smelly grubby hole> It is both dangerous and unhealthy and I am not well pleased with their customer service if you can call it that. They are grossly misrepresenting their product.
what ever u do if u need a flight to lanzarote PLEASE DO NOT BOOK FLIGHTS WITH LANZAROTE AIRFARES as u will be ripped off and receive nothing in return for your money
Please do not make comments that you know nothing about. You did not see where we stayed and I can assure you that if you had you would have complained also. Unless you live in a dwelling where there is such an overpowering stink of damp that it makes you want to vomit. I have had several holidays and have been delighted with most. I do not complain unless it is absolutely necessary. Are you a member of Villa Plus staff?
I have travelled to many villas over the years, and with all the usual villa companies. In my opinion there are only 2 villa companies that have a genuine interest us,one of those is Villa Plus, (the other is Solmar Villas). Both of these companies have previously taken the time to ensure we got the right villa for our group and everything was as described. At the end of the day you can't get it right all the time and people will always come on here and right nasty things about a company if they don't get what they want or the slightest little thing is wrong, I wonder if they put positive comments on about any holidays they have? Mallorcan Farmhouses were good too, although the villa are a bit out of the way and booking complicated. Villaparade are just so over priced it's unbelievable and James Villas don't seem to have a lot in a good location. That's my opinion anyway. As I say I've tried lots and only ever been impressed by a few.
Well please keep your comments to your own experiences. We are not serial complainers. If you had seen the villa we stayed in you would have complained also - unless you like living in a strong stench of damp? Do you work for VillaPlus?
