Although, I had heard through the grapevine that the hotel we chose was going to be closed when we had chose to go. It has taken until now for Thomson to inform us.
They have offered an alternative hotel, quite unsuitable and not Platinum as our chosen hotel.
Apart from requesting a refund, what are my other rights

Sorry to hear about your problems, when is the holiday booked for ?.
Due to lots of smallprint your rights are few, they can offer you an alternative holiday or a full refund, and thats about it. I had this done 2 years ago and we chose alternative hotel.
You may be better taking the full refund and finding a hotel of your choice and booking again if the one they offer is not acceptable for you.
