DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!
I booked online with them last friday, and it said they would call me within 24 hours. I had no email conformation.
I tried to call them all weekend but was in a que at one point for 30 minutes!
I also wrote them an email.
I thought id wait till monday morning to see if i would get any type of response but to no avail. After all the bad reviews i then read online, i called my bank and instructed them not to let sunsave take any money from my account. I therefore booked everything with someone else where like theses things usually go, i got email conformations and the money taken from my account.
Then today, Sunsave called asking to talk about confirming my booking!! 2 days before i am due to go on holiday!!
So i told her i had booked elsewhere as i had not heard from them and could not get through, and she said quite abruptley, i have been calling all week, left 6/7 messages! So i said well you havent else why would i be calling back only today??? She said she wasnt going to argue about it, she has left messages, and i tell you what lets just forget about it!! I told her i forgot about it monday when i booked elsewher and she put the phone down on me!!!! Unbelievable. Can anyone tell me where to complain to trading standards as i dont think they should be allowed to continue running from what i have read!

I booked a 2 week holiday back in October, for me and my boyfriend to fly to the Dominican Republic in Sept 09. Once I was told they would contact me within 24 hours, the phoned back in only one hour. This all went smoothly, however they offered me a different hotel instead and I was at work and took the man for his word. The booking went smoothly, however including all the charges such as in-flight meals and transfers were not included in the orginal price, and we ended up paying about another £100 each. This did not bother us too much as the prices still worked out cheaper than any other company.
We have now paid all that off so I hope it all goes smoothly!
My dad booked a holiday at the end of Feb, to fly the start of March. He did not recieve any tickets, just a hotel confirmation but this all went smoothly at the airport and had a great holiday! Again he ended up paying more than was quoted on the website, it all turned out fine!
So although they do charge more than they say, and add on the extras after, they seemed to work well for my parents, so I hope this is reassuring for others! Fingers crossed our hokiday goes well now!

i booked a holiday from sunsave on sun 19th july going 23rd sep 2009 to to malaga tried to book 2 rooms but could not do that so had to send 2 bookings forms holiday for 7 days priced £936.00 for 4 persons got email saying someone would phone to finalise holiday ,got phone call next day and was told it would be £1,224.00 told girl i could not afford this as on there web site it was £936.00 what a rip off this site is, when i asked to cancel there was a cancellation fee as she said they booked the hotel i told her to phone me back,i rang and cancelled my credit card, and phoned the hotel and was told we had not been booked in . when they phoned back i ask why i was ask to pay a cancellation fee when nothing had been booked she still said the hotel was booked, but when told i had phoned hotel, she said the confirmation would not come until a week before i went on the holiday so i ask how would confirmation come when nothing had been booked so she went of to speak to her supervisor came back about 1min later said that was alright they would not charge me,they should show final price on web site if i had seen it i would not have booked, do not be a soft touch with this company. i was able to get cheaper on high street travel agents.

Hi, I booked with this Company yesterday at an agreed price of £1433 with card details. The salesgirl rang approx 3hours later to 'confirm' and lo and behold, the price had gone up in the interim by £139! She explained that the airline had increased their prices between my booking and them processing the order! I eventually agreed a slightly cheaper flight at a closer airport but was not convinced by supposed 'mistakes' quoted to me re extra baggage costs whilst trying to find cheaper flights.
On checking my bill I found that the increase in the bill for the accomodation part was also £82.17. I used their 'feedback' facility to complain and also rang them up but they said that they cannot update their flight and accomodation prices as quickly as they change, [go up]. I emailed them to say I was not satisfied. I feel ripped off. Anyone know how best to try to get reimbursed?

I booked online with sunsave.com today, and boy do I regret it, booked feeling confident and relieved from all the stressful research I did of each resort that appealed to me, first mistake is not to look into the company you are booking with. Got call 2 hours later to confirm it, problem with the flight, it went up by almost £300! Settled with an alternative flight day and different resort because of costly flight, Total charges that weren't included in online booking was baggage and transfers were pinned under "extras", totalling £1458 for a small 3* apartment resort in Sa Coma, which really should have cost £1250 at most by the impression I got from SUNSAVE.com, not anyone else because I didn't search for alternatives. I thought damnit, but said okay anyway because I just wanted it settled. She called later saying that payment couldn't be confirmed, said I'd have it sorted by tomorrow, began to look at thomson and found some great deals which were cheaper and better, atleast from tripadvisor that was the case. I can half trust them too.
I'm hoping that if no money has been took, I can tell the bank in the morning to reject any transactions with them, then call sunsave saying everything is off with them and complain about how they are ripping people off, and that I'm not gonna be one of them. If all's sorted, I'm booking a holiday to Lanzarote between 21st-28th August for £1160, everything included with Thomson!
Companies like these leech off the weak, we need to warn people about them, they'll go strong if word isn't spread people!

Kevin,
Please, i hope it is not too late but you should have told sunsave straight away that you no longer want it if they can't honour the price and that payment keeps declining, just say you have a problem with the card and that you can't do anything and DO NOT let them charge a fee for cancelling as nothing would have been confirmed without payment.
The last thing you want is to have them book your holiday and end up with 2 holidays.
The way they work, it wouldn't suprise me if they just went ahead and booked it without telling you and then you end up with an email confirmation saying YOUR HOLIDAY IS CONFIRMED ... worst nightmare.
Please, let us know all is ok as i sure hope you are.

They went ahead with it, I was so distraught at the time, I spent all of yesterday morning calling my bank, calling sunsave, calling thomson (for the holiday I had found to enquire about). Turns out Sunsave booked it when I tried to pay for the Thomson holiday, said they were given the go ahead, I made the mistake and am paying atleast £300 if not more than what this holiday is worth, on the bright side they have the flights, transfers and hotels all booked with emails detailing what I have to do come the holiday, I just need to print them out and I'm good to go.
Disputed it with them on the phone, told them how I felt ripped off at their unfair service and mentioned this thread as a reference for my concern/anger, they were very cheeky and even found my distress amusing, "you have a holiday stop worrying" to quote the woman.
To sum up: Dreadful service, terrible phone lines (you spend ages waiting for an enquiry, sometimes the line goes off altogether), website that isn't live I understood that. I could price a much cheaper holiday to the same resort with exact same details a day after my flight (with sunsave), but of course that's before they mess you around.
I WARN anyone who is seriously considering this company to look elsewhere, it put me under so much stress I was ready to breakdown, they will get you a holiday but not without netting a nice little profit for themselves and ripping you off. Once "booked", you can't get a refund, at all (100% Cancellation Fee, is this the same for high street agents?) I'll stick to Thomson from now on, first time booking, learn from my mistakes I guess.
I'll let you all know how the holiday went (23rd-30th August 2009).
