DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS COMPANY!
Unlike some of the other people on here, we got our phone call from Sunsave the next day, but surprise, surprise it was to say that the holiday we had booked to Malta was no longer available (although still showing on their website weeks later) and that they could offer us something similar for £200 more.
No chance! (If only I had looked on here before booking!)
If you do get caught out by this company, you could try doing what we did. Insist on paying only what you agreed and when they can't find anything in that price range (even though their website shows plenty of offers) insist again that the whole thing is cancelled. It is a worry that they've got your card details by then, but they didn't take any money off of us as we did not agree to book one of their (more expensive) offers.
We found an alternative holiday in the end via the teletext site - all went smoothly and we had a lovely holiday in the end with no nasty surprises!
sunsave.com
I was caught by this scam yesterday. The online total price was £550, but this increased to £730 during the phone call.
I tried to cancel as they did not keep to the quoted price - they say I can't cancel and will have to pay 100% of it as it's within 12 weeks. I refused to accept the holiday and got my son to take over the call. He politely and assertively argued with her that what they were doing was at best deceitful and extremely dubious, In the end she said she'd get someone else to call me back and put the phone down on him.
The bank say they can't cancel a debit payment.
24 hours later no one else has called me back, I've had no email either to confirm the holiday or to confirm cacellation. The site doesn't recognise my email address.
Anyone got any advice?
They have my bank details.
Did anyoune succeed with a cancellation and not get money taken out of their account?

Hi Spinksy,
Apart from being a very nasty tactic they are using, i doubt anything has gone through on the card.
Sunsave are just a travel agent, know way in any travel agents mind would they confirm something at a higher price without the client authorising this,if they do then this must be reported at once.
If i am in the middle of booking something and the price goes up, if the client no longer wants it, then i don't confirm it. Only a stupid agent would confirm it then realise the price is not correct to what was quoted, as depending on the airline, if the agents tries to cancel it with say a low cost carrier, there wouldn't be any refund and the agent would be out of pocket.
They are using scare tactics to make you think you have no choice but to carry on with the booking with them.
Also if you request a copy of the call, i cannot believe they charge £50 for this, it is merely a few clicks on the system to email a call to someone. This charge in itself says to me that they do not care about customers, basically because call recordings solve about 90% of minor disputes, why would a company charge this amount to resolve a dispute. It screams "WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR WHAT YOUR PROBLEM IS, BUT £50 AND WE WILL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO"

Wish I had found this before.
I called for a quote, but did not book straight away, and she kept calling me back, then when I was looking online it came up cheaper, to which the woman replied oh yes the online prices are a couple of days old (holidays do not go up that much in a few days)
All went smoothly except that there was no transfer once landing in Turkey.....something I was dreading being a single mum, with my son in a foreign country......just waiting to be ripped off. Thomas Cook charged me another £52 for the transfer.....which I am currently trying to get resolved with Sunsave. They claim it will take 28 days for a response from Holiday Taxis.....I dont think so Sunsave called me as I was leaving for the airport to tell me that I had not got a transfer.....I am not paying for it twice. Fortunately enough I had money to pay for the transfer when I landed

I just booked with Sunsave and I would just like to say how very easy and efficient oh and quick it was booking our holiday to egypt at christmas, and saving us money. The person who rang back to confirm everything was very friendly, cheery and helpful. Gold stars all round up to now.

I was a bit dubious about using SunSave, as it's not well known, like
Thompsons or FirstDirect for example.
However, our holiday was FANTASTIC! Flights and hotels booked easily and
cheaply on SunSave and everything worked out brilliantly!
I would definately use them again, hope this helps!

I would like to say how pleasing it was to book a holiday with Sunsave! It was quick and simple; and even at the late hour of 8pm I recieved a call from them and managed to complete the booking right away! I was not expecting a reply for atleast 2 days! I am very impressed.
I would also like to compliment Caroline for her excellent customer service and friendly attitude! I must admit if I was working this late I would struggle to deal with customers half as efficiently as she did!
Great company and great staff! I will definately be booking my holidays with Sunsave again!

As with previous reviewers, I was also caught up in Sunsave's scam. You think you have booked a reasonably priced holiday until you get your call.......my holiday went up £250 for the 3 of us when the agent rang - Sunsave quote 'the website is not a live site'......but there should be a law against what they are doing. We couldn't reason with them and we couldn't cancel. We also had to pay for 3 suitcase, even though we were only taking 2 because 'their system' cannot adjust and I was not told that I could pay for the suitcase at the airport.......I would never recommend this company to anyone - just the oppoosite. I was going to Cyprus with my husband and daughter who, by the way is 25 and not an infant, so I booked a Studio room which is larger than a twin room. Sunsave, unbeknown to me, booked us a double room. I rang and tried to change this saying I had paid the higher amount for a studio room and they informed me that the deal had gone through, they couldn't check what I had paid for - in other wordes - TOUGH......My daughter spent 7 nights in a very small bed tucked in the corner of our small double room........The only positive aspect was that we had more leg room on our flight which we wouldn't have had if we had booked through a travel agent. DO NOT USE SUNSAVE TO BOOK A HOLIDAY........

Please do not use this company! We are currently in dispute and they are real cowboys! We originally booked and paid for our holiday with sunsave and like many of the other postings were told our holiday was no longer available and we had to pay EXTRA for an alternative. We then got a phone call telling us there would be minor interior building works at the hotel next to ours! I immediately asked to cancel and have a refund but the Sunsave rep said Thomas cook whom they purchased the holiday from would not allow it. (this was a lie!) When we arrived at the hotel the work was external and like a building site. There was also work going on at our hotel. Due to the refurbishment our water was brown and the heating did not work properly. To make matters worse we found out that other guests had been offered a refund by Thomas Cook. On our return home Thomas cook confirmed that a refund was offered but the sales rep at Sunsave did not pass this on. We have been dealing with Sunsave who have pushed us from pillar to post and still have not settled our request for compensation or admitted liability. I would strongly recommend anyone NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY.
