Vision holiday ceased trading on the 7th of september. Your friend need to contact the CAA to get their money back or if they paid by credit card they will get their money from their credit card company. They may not be going on hoilday but at least they should get their money. My only concern I checked out vision holidays ATOL number and couldn't find it on the CAA site where I done a search their ATOL number or by their name. If the booking was with a tour operator like goldtrail they should be able to claim on goldtrials ATOL number.

Michelle contact the CAA they will be able to give you advice and should arrange for the hotel to be paid for and a flight to get them home again.

The CAA's Role - The CAA works to avoid customer inconvenience and distress by contacting accommodation suppliers of the failed tour operator and making the necessary arrangements to ensure customers can complete their stay and link up with their return flights. If an accommodation supplier insists on payment from customers, the CAA will organise a refund to them when they return to the UK.

Vision Holidays TTA number U1585 ATOL T7176.

Vision Holidays were a member of the Travel Trust Association (TTA) and passengers due to travel with them or been held to ransom before returning to the UK and paid hotels are advised to contact the TTA on 08708 890 577 for more information.

As far as I am aware, they have ceased trading, my cousin rang me from Turkey to say that he had to pay for his hotel and transfers again, and he called me to check if he was booked on the return flight to Birmingham.

i was phoned by the travel trust the day before i was due to leave (11th sept) and told that vision holidays had ceased trading and i was recommended to cancel as even though my flight was almost guaranteed to my destination, i would have have to pay the hotel (as they had not received funds from vision) and also transfers when i got there.
I cancelled, and am promised a full refund providing i send all relevant documentation (credit card statement etc) I still not sure when this will be as they reckon they have 2000 customers to contact and administer. I wont be booking holidays through teletext again.

My friend and I booked a Holiday to Turkey through Vision Holiday Ltd in August 2004. We were assured on booking that they were members of ABTA and ATOL - (which they are not they are the TTA)
Vision left us stranded in Turkey with no flights home. When we rang them from Turkey they were not bothered and told us to find our own way back home. They also promised us a FULL refund on our return.
We have been fighting with them ever since and 3 months ago we were awarded 697 from them by the county court, due to be paid to us by the 11th September 2007.
As you can imagine we have not seen a penny of the money and now see that they have ceased trading. We are still greatly out of pocket and are not giving up until we have to.
Does anyone know what happens next or who we need to contact to try and recoup any money?
Good luck to anyone else in the same situation.
