Hi All & HW
Thanks for the support we welcome the comments and this discussion. This 'Bait & Switch' theory that keeps coming up is really so far from the truth it's un real. We spend thousands on our Google advertising and it is vital to us that we are able to book the holidays at the advertised prices for people who do place orders on our site. Other wise we waist lots of money in advertising to get people there.
Logic suggests if we where doing the bait & switch' as its been christened by theinsider we would lose much more in advertising costs than what we could possibly make by increasing every or even some of the holiday prices that we show on our site.
If anyone is interested in the real reason, even though its not as exciting as the bait & switch theory it is all to do with incorrect third party data supplied to us by the providers we use on our website. Everyone concerned in travel tries to ensure the feeds between the companies are correct however at times unfortunately they get it wrong, all we can do is inform the customer of the increased cost and ask if they want to go ahead. If they do not then the order is always cancelled free of charge. Our site will continue to show incorrect data until the airline or hotel provider updates and corrects their prices. This can at times take a while.
The point of the travelrants reference is that some one was able to go onto a web site and completely slander our company and it actually turn out that they are not even our customer.
As you state HW people should give us a chance to deal with any complaints before going on sites such as these. Even if they are not happy with the outcome they still have the official avenues of appeal open to them.
Anyway it's the modern age I suppose as I said the internets great but a bit unregulated. People just have to make up their own minds.

I am surprised to hear your views about On The Beach.
We booked a week in Lanzarote last Christmas and it was excellent. The tickets, desciption of hotel and overall service was superb.
Mind you I always avoid All Inclusive holidays as there is no such thing !!!

I have just returned from a two week all inclusive holiday which I booked through OTBeach.I booked it 5 months ago, also arranging transfers through their web site. The booking process was quick and efficient, very easy to use. I spoke to their customer service department on two occassions and they were efficient and helpful. Accommodation and transfer vouchers were sent immediately online, and tickets arrived within a week of departure. The whole process worked like clockwork, and we had a great holiday.I will certainly use them again. Especially as the holiday cost a few hundred pounds less than other companies. It will be my first port of call for my next holiday.

I have used this company three times now and have never experienced a problem. You did of course read the booking conditions before you clicked to buy?

If a company has 2000 customers and out of those customer's 2% complain that's 40 customers unhappy, if those 40 customers came on this forum and wrote their opinions you would definetly think the company was terrible and would steer clear of them. BUT a company with only 2% of complaints is a very proficiant company that any auditor would applaud.
10 or 20 bad reviews of a company don't make that company poor, on this forum 10 or 20 posts of complaints would look dire but is it really dire in the real world.
What type of people are making these complaints?
Customers that nik-pik, people that are never happy, people that love to complain, or the scammers that want money off.
Every company and every person gets things wrong once in a while but these days no one allows for that anymore.

Well said Ian, I am a Customer Service Manager in the travel industry and people complain about everything in the vain attempt they might get some 'compensation' how very American.
People make mistakes sometimes even in the very best run organisations in the world, at least give a company a chance to put something right before slating them. On the Beach I have found to be good value for money, the staff are always helpful when an enquiry is made.
My husband and I will continue to use this company as they provide a good service.
