The twin-deck aircraft can carry about 555 people - more than the Boeing 747 jumbo built by Airbus' main competitor.

Its not that much, his first introductory lesson was £135, but that was for a whole hour and he flew the plane apart from take off all on his own. Well to be a commercial pilot and fly a 747 is costs in the region of £50,000, mucho bucks... Better start counting those pennies, just done it, im £49,990 short. HeHe. Why cant he want to be a plumber ???

Why do people always think plumbers are rich, we run our own plumbing business and i can assure you we are definately not rich. The cowboys probably are though!! It makes my blood boil when i hear comments about plumbers, the problem is bad ones and sharks tar all plumbers with the same brush, just had to get that off my chest!

Glad to hear that, do you feel better now, anyway nothing wrong with being a plumber, trade for life, and if he wants to emigrate to australia when hes older they are crying out for plumbers.. :thumleft:

Good plumbers are hard to find, and the good ones are always busy, my husband is reliable, and reasonable, and doesnt charge the same prices as plumbers in London. We have never advertised, our business is solely word of mouth, people come back to us, and most people who phone have been recommended. As for emigrating to Australia, i doubt it very much, if we emigrated it would most probably be to Cyprus to retire. My husband worked very hard to get where he is, not like the young plumbers today. He served an apprenticship, got his city and guilds, and is corgi registered, to be corgi registered is not cheap. Also, after the first of April, everytime he fits in a boiler he has to notify corgi, who then notify the building regs. This hopefully will stop the cowboys out there. Anyone out there who has a boiler serviced or replaced should always use a corgi registered gas fitter.
Sorry to bore everyone, but heating is a part of our lifes, unless you live in a hot country. How lovely that would be.........

Nik999 - Why not get your son to join the Air Cadets? My lad has quite a few flying hours under his belt and they cost us nothing. Looking at the Airbus, though has got me in a lather. Must be too big to stay up. Gawd it's scary!!
