Gambia - Malaria Warning

Postby HW Jan.C on Sat Jan 21, 2006 2:17 pm

There has been an increased number of confirmed cases of severe Malaria in the Gambia. The Federation of Tour Operators has strongly advised Travel Agents and Tour Operators to inform clients of the need to take appropriate medication against Malaria.

The medication will need to be taken prior to, during and after the clients' holiday. There are several recommended medication options for the Gambia that need to be started between one day and three weeks prior to travel. All are available on prescription.

People taking late departure offers need to be alerted to the time that may be required to adequately prepare themselves against the risk of malaria.
