Hand Luggage Restriction Heathrow Airport

I have just checked the Heathrow airport web page.

Does anyone know if there are still the restrictions on the size of hand luggage and if the restrictions on medicines still apply.

Reading the information it is suggesting that if you have prescription medication you need to have some form of verification from your GP. I am flying in March and do not want to put my medicines into my suitcase.

Do you still need to put these and any other items into a sealed plastic bag within your handbag?
