Holiday Company Rip - offs

Postby imager on Mon May 02, 2005 12:07 pm

Recently booked a package trip ( I Know ::roll: ) to Cyprus with Olympic Holidays, when the tickets arrived my partners details were wrong, they had given her a mans name and had her down as a male, as this would obviously cause problems I gave them a call, they agreed to change the tickets but I'd have to pay 35 for their mistake,:icon_grrs , when I queried this I was told that "If you want to go you have to pay"!,
I wonder how many times a day they pull this stunt, it must be a great little earner for them, added to Fuel surcharge, Flight supplement, under-occupancy Supplement, its a disgrace, definately the last time I use Olympic!

Did you book online or at a travel agency? Either way you should have the original confirmation details or invoice. If the details on these are correct, and they have made a mistake, I don't see how they can justify making you pay. If you have enough time before you go, it might be worth contacting some senior at Olympic to get the details changed free of charge, and threatening the usual complaints to BBC Watchdog etc, if they refuse.

Same thing happened to me,except this was Thomas Cook.I booked over the phone and as the lead name and being female(the last time I looked anyway)
they put me down as a Mr...on the confirmation, and the carpark confirmation.
Got on the phone and they said I might have to pay to get it changed...threatened to cancell holiday and report them with allsorts.
They sent through another lot and this time I was a Mrs.....Great !!! except I'm still a Miss.!All got sorted and with an apology after 3 weeks from booking it!! Just aswell as we were flying 2 weeks after that.
As ag28com suggests threaten them with BBC Watchdog.
Hope you get a result.
