Tropical Storm Threatens Canary Islands

Thousands of British travellers could have their winter sun breaks disrupted as tropical storm 'Delta' threatens to hit the Canary Islands.
The storm intensified to near hurricane-strength in the Atlantic Ocean yesterday and threatened to lash the Spanish islands as it raced toward northwest Africa, forecasters at the US National Hurricane Center said.

Thanks for that HW The Dog, at the moment I don't really care..I have enough to worry about....Over the years we have been in America when a Hurricane was coming....And Cyprus with earth quake tremmers, that was a few years ago when Turkey had that terrible earthquake.

Umm not looking to good for anyone on the atlantic Islands for the next few days,strange thing is it should be going the other way.

STORM FORCE WINDS IN THE MADEIRA ISLANDS AND GALE FORCE WINDS IN THE
CANARY ISLAND WILL BE POSSIBLE TODAY AND EARLY TONIGHT... WITH GALE
TO POSSIBLE STORM FORCE WINDS REACHING THE THE COAST OF MOROCCO AND
NORTHERN MAURITANIA BY LATE TONIGHT OR EARLY TUESDAY.

DELTA IS MOVING TOWARD THE EAST NEAR 30 MPH...48 KM/HR...AND THIS
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS. ON THE
FORECAST TRACK... DELTA IS EXPECTED TO PASS BETWEEN THE CANARY AND
MADEIRA ISLANDS LATER TODAY AND EARLY TONIGHT... AND REACH THE
CENTRAL COAST OF MOROCCO BY TUESDAY MORNING.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 65 MPH...100 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER

Take no notice mother I am sure that when you go it will be lovely-and I am sure it will be a hell of a lot better than it is here any way.
I would rather be there than here in this horrible murky country wether there is a tropical storm or not!! x x x

You should live down here Sydney,don't do murky days in Essex, well not to many anyway.Here's a pic of the sunset this evening in Essex taken on the way home from work on my phone cam.
