How much money to take and in what currency?

Hi, my boyfriend and I are going to Yasmine Hammamet in 3 weeks. We are staying half board in a 4 star hotel so won't need to buy breakfast or dinner. Can anyone suggest how much money we should take with us? Would say £3-400 each be enough?? Also, can anyone advise on how best to take it? Are travellers cheques a good idea? If so, what currency would be best? sterling? dollars? euro? Also, we read somewhere that they like to be tipped in sterling? is this the case? How much should we take? any advice at all on moneys would be much appreciated.

Hi i went in july and spent under £300 eating out every day for a week pretty much and having quite a few drinkies spa treatments and going to the medina and jet skiing plus buying cigarettes there and bringing some back. So £300 would probably be plenty but you can always change back what you don't soend whilst you are out there.
i took sterling travellers cheques.
