Hello!

Just returned from Tunisia and bought 7 spices and i have no idea what they are although i can guess.

4 Epices - think this is a 4 mixed spice thing?

Sex Vitamine - No idea.... very odd this one?!

Cummul - i thought this was cumin but been told its not?

Safran - Saffron?

Curry - Duh

Harissa - some sort of mixed spice to make a paste with?

Coreindre - Coriander?

Not opened them yet as i may be giving them as a present...

anyone know what they are?

Hi there, I can help with a few of those. Safran is definitely Saffron and Harissa is a very hot chilli paste that they usually mix into tomoto based sauses like the 'soup' they use on couscous in North Africa.

the 4 Spices I'm not sure about, I would guess it's like Ras al Hanout which is a North African spice mix with paprika, coriander, cumin, clove, cinnamon and a few hundred other ingredients.

Coreindre - hmm, hard one that!

Harissa is a mix of spiced chilli flavours. use sparingly
cummul seems to be made of caraway seeds and mildly flavoured.
the sex vitamine is anyones guess .... put some in hubbys tea and sit back watch the firework display :) heh

I read that a large batch of that sex vitamine was nicked from Tunisia recently; police are looking for hardened criminals.

You are quite correct about Harissa it can be used in conjunction with cumin, coriander, turmeric and paprika to make a lovely spicy paste for kebabs..The sex vitamine has got me stumped though,so i won't bang on about it.
cheers ray
