| Hi, we've just found out that we are going during the ramadan. Can anyone tell me what this is going to be like? will things (shops/restaurants/cafes etc) be open?? Please let us know as soon as possible as we're starting to panic.
thanks.

| Generally tourists aren't affected that much; it's biz as usual but just be mindful that Ramadan is happening & certain things in shops (more then the hotels) may not be running quite as smoothly, or the vendor is tired (they have to rise early, I believe & the days are pretty long......sorry, bit ignorant but just drawing on things I've read on Tunisian & Egyptian forums!) & try not to eat in front of vendors...stuffing one's face with food & drink as you walk into their shop may not be the wisest thing to do!

| Not usually a problem, you may find some services like taxi's scarce, some shops and the hotel bank clossedfor the first 2 hours after dark, usuall between 7 and 9pm but bars, restaurants, hotel faclilities and other things related to tourism will run just the same. We always go during Ramadan and never found it to be a problem.
