Hi Guys
Can anyone offer me some guideance on how I go about marketing my turkish villa for rental. There are a lot of agencies in Turkey that offer to do this, but they either want a huge percentage of the rental income or to sign to them for a couple of years - which I dont want to do. Ideally, I would like to put it on the books with a travel agency over here so holiday makers will be directed to it if they are looking to book accomodation. Alternatively, how would I market any travel reps who are looking for long term accomodation?

Hi tarnlass,
:thumleft:
You can use the "private mail" on here if you like!
It's much better than having your e-mail address plastered on here, just in case you get an inbox full of spam!

Hi there Tarnalss
My apartment is near to Olu Deniz, so I dont think it will be any good for you. Good luck with your trip over there to Icmeler.
Does anyone know when Dalaman airport is going to be open for the full season - just checked some sites out and they seem to stop doing direct around now until April - bit of a pain having to fly into Istanbul. Has anyone ever done this then caught the bus down to Olu Deniz. I am considering going to Istanbul but a bit wary of some of the stories I have heard.

www.h4u.co.uk
Have started doing flights direct to Dalaman through the winter and have flights still avalliable for Christmas.
Although through lack of demand flights will stop going to Dalaman on the 30th December 05 and will resume again on the 10th Febuary 06
Flights are from Manchester and Gatwick.
Turkish Airlines are also flying direct to Dalaman through the winter from Stanstead.

Hi everyone
Just thought I'd mention that Custom Flights are also doing direct flights to Dalaman from Gatwick and Manchester during the winter, but Gene is right in saying most of the flights that were initially put on for December and January have been cancelled due to lack of interest - or should that be lack of publicity....
The 30th December flight is still operating from Gatwick, but there's nothing else until February unless you go from Stanstead or travel via Istanbul.
Yan only book with Custom Flights through a travel agent, and then it has to be a travel agent who has a contract with them, however, I found them a little cheaper than h4u.

There would be very little point in getting a filght befoer April/May as no hotels or apartments are open and taking guests, as far as I know. Everything shuts down at the end of October. Also the Turkish winter is pretty wet - swimming pools fill up twice with the volume of rain the Dalaman area receives.

Hi Ali07
It would take about 13 hours (by coach) to travel from Istanbul to the Dalaman area.
Dalaman is open for domestic flights all year round so you wouldn't have any problems in getting a flight going via Istanbul, and if you buy an "all-in" ticket (for example with Turkish Airlines or BA) you wouldn't even see your baggage until you got to Dalaman. I think the flight on to Dalaman is only an hour.
Istanbul airport is no different to Heathrow - it's big (not as big as Heathrow of course!), very clean and very well organised... in fact, I was surprised at what a nice airport it was. I was travelling alone and found Heathrow much more stressful! So it's nothing at all like Dalaman airport!
Best of all would be to have a couple of days in Istanbul before heading down to Dalaman - it's an amazing city!
