We too were in Turkey for the last two weeks of the season. We found that only a handful closed and there were lots more open. What did you expect at the end of the season?

Getting transfered

Postby Sazz on Fri Nov 05, 2004 9:46 pm

I too was in Turkey, 13th to 21st October in Calis Beach. Most restaurants were open, I love it at the start and end of the season. Not many tourists around at the end of the season but the weather was in the 90's every day. Fethiye was very much open, no change there as its a Turkish town rather than resort. Fantastic to have the best of both worlds.

Everything is open in Icmeler until end of October. The resort is quieter but some people like it this way.

I have been to Crete beginning of season end of March and most restaurants were closed but still enjoyed it.

I think it depends on where you go to and what sort of holiday you prefer.

Hope you have better luck next time.

The last week of October 2005 the weather was really warm and probably as settled for that time of year as it has been for a long time.

The bars and restaurants that do close are usually the ones that are not really busy throughout most of the season though you will find that the more popular ones will remain open right to the death.
