Hi Spice
Marmaris is the biggest resort and most popular with the Brits. It is a little bit blackpool like but it depends on which area you are staying in.
The harbour area is great for sitting watching the gulets coming and going. Netsel Marina which is just a little bit further on is also great for eating out. The restaurants are a better quality in the Marina and not overly expensive. Pineapple restaurant and upstairs 'The English Pub' are excellent both situated at the Marina. Great Indian restaurant in both Marmaris and Icmeler Taj Mahal, chef is from Bradford (Really!) In the Bazzaar great original Turkish Lokantas at very reasonable prices.
You are also only a stone through away from the more relaxed resort of Icmeler, which is very much a beach resort by day and excellent for dining in the evening. If visiting Icmeler try Lighthouse Restaurant, cuisine is excellent, Chef restuarant, Love Boat and for lots of fun the Venice.
Excellent area for touring, inexpensive boat trips are available in Marmaris, beware though boats can be busy! Village tour is great! If you enjoy history and wonders of the world then two day Ephesus and Pamukkale is for you.
Have a great holiday!

Don't mix this hotel up with Reef Oasis Hotel .Reef Oasis Blue Bay is not open yet. When i booked this hotel in December 06 i was told it was open and people where staying in it.When i realised it was'nt open i have been on to my travel agent and they said it was going to be open the 1st week in March that did'nt happen. They now say it is going to be open the 1st week of June.I then rang and spoke to somebody in Egypt and they are saying they can't give a completion date.I am supposed to be going there the 2nd week of June.I have asked to move hotels but i am going to have to pay admin fees or loose my deposit if i cancel.Thomsons are not helping to sort this out at all. They say they did'nt know the hotel was'nt open!!!What sort of travel agents is that!!

Yes lots of tips, Turunc is a lovely peaceful resort, with a nice clean sandy beach, Lots of places to eat and bars to pass a few hours in, We really enjoyed our holiday there. If you like it a bit busier you can catch a water taxi from Turunc harbour to Icmeler or Marmaris . Out of all the restaraunts we tried there was one we went back to time after time, the service and the food couldnt be beaten. It is on the right hand side at the top of the main street and it is called the Yakamoz Restaraunt,, it is owned by a lovely man called Octai.. If you do go Please pass on regards from Jan and Tom,
There are lots of shops to choose from and there is a cash point in the middle of the main street ( Turunc has only one main street).
It is set in a sweeping bay and the views coming down over the hill into Turunc itself are fabulous. You can book lots of trips out in the local agencies or go and see Carol our HW member in Icmeler she will sort them out for you, we had a day out fishing and swimming on one of the local boats, we had a party of 8 people, the crew provided the lines bait, etc, and also took us to some lovely coves for swimming, we had a fab day and it cost us 8 each, we had the whole boat to ourselves.
There is a market every Monday in Turunc where they prefer to take UK you get more for your money and BARTER.
I am sure you will love it the people and the place are fabulous, Where are you staying in Turunc?.
If you have any questions Please post them on here and I will get back to you
