A very different and enjoyable way to visit the UK

I recently went on holiday to the UK. This is a very different type of UK Tour holiday, basically you stay in peoples homes, they welcome you in and explain a little more about their country, giving you an insight into Britain that you would never normally to lucky enough to see. There really is no better way to experience Britain. Homestay organized the whole itinerary for us, with the option to do a little sight seeing of your own.

We really felt like we got to see the heart of the British countryside, its heritage and its people and had a much richer holiday experience thanks to Homestay. This was a holiday that I will remember for the rest of my live.

My friends and I went on a 13 day trip beginning at a hotel in London, where we all met up for breakfast and to meet everyone. We have seen so many different landmarks and places in Britain in those 13 day Portsmouth, Winchester, Salisbury, Torquay, Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Bath, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick, Chester, Liverpool, The Lake District, and York.

We absolutely loved the people, places and flexibility. There was so much stunning scenery and amazing history, not to mention one of our host's hearty Lancashire Hotpot - it was love at first bite. That said all of our hosts made us feel so welcome and at home, it was hard to leave.

It was so good being able to follow our own travel plan and see the things we wanted to see. We can not wait to go back again next year.

As you can probably tell, my friends and I had a wonderful time in the UK, I truly recommend they holiday to everyone and anyone interested in learning more about England.

Hi Amanda,

Welcome to HW, It's so nice to hear a good feedback from people who use English homestays.

We are a homestay family and have been for the past 19 years. We are registered with a Local Executive Language School, students stay with us for usually no more than 4 weeks, this gives them a good insite into English culture and also gives them time to explore our country, even though it's only a short visit.

Over the years we have had over 100 students pass through our home, our sons, my husband and myself have learnt so much from foreign students, about their different cultures, things which we would never have read in books.

Thank you again for your feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay in the UK.

Mal :))
