Hi scooty,
Do you realise that it is almost 3000 miles from NY to LA, total non-stop driving time in access of 60 hours. you will also be charged a fee for every state line you cross for not returning the car to original hire center. Last time we drove from Kentucky to Florida
it was $200 for each state (4) altough we did get a deal.
Do look at car hire web sites, some offer you a delivery option for driving rentals back to different states, but there is a time limit on how long you can take. And do make sure of good cover not just CDW. for that type of journey.
