| I have just had a guest stay at my villla who was then going down the coast to clearwater to "relax" and "collect his thoughts" after a really hectic wo weeks in Orlando doing all you do in the Great City!
Clearwater is lovely with boats that take you out to the sea and you can see the dolphins swim along side your boat and enjoy a stress free unwinding period at the end of your holiday..have a lovely time

| Hi
We went for 3 weeks for our Honeymoon. Stayed in International Drive, then went to Vegas for 4 days & flew back to Orlando drove to CLearwater (1 hours drive). Orlando is definately a day time place, Clearwater's the relaxing beach part, but if you want nightlife consider Vegas. Internal flights are cheap, takes a few hours I think, you'd have to check as this was 4 years ago, but you don't have the hassle we have at our airports. Vegas is one of a kind!
Enjoy!

| I spent a wonderful few days down the coast from St Petes/Clearwater at Bradenton Beach. Got a small apartment last minute, just about 1 minute from the beach. The beaches are huge and very quiet. There is some great restauants in the area and few tourists!

| Sarasota is an amazing place to spend some time after the hectic pace of Orlando. Plenty of bars and restaurants, peace and quiet, beautiful beaches. You couldn't fail to love it there.

| hi, i have to agree with love all, SARASOTA,is lovely, so is naples.. but you can take turnpike road, down to maimi and continue on to key west.. really nice drive on the turnpike, its a toll road.. but not expensive, you pay at the end.. 70 miles i think. Daytona is also an option or marco island. To go the florida and not explore is criminal!!

| We have just come back from For Lauderdale this summer - 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Fort Lauderdale really lovely for us and has great beach but driving through Miami - just thought if I was only 20 again, that's probably where I would head - big city and plenty of nightlife and great people watching beaches. Shopping in Fort Lauderdale (Sawgrass Mills) truly an experience not to be missed but I think there is also a good outlet in Miami as well. Miami and Fort Lauderdale are only about 1/2 hour drive apart anyway if you want to stay in one and visit the other..?. Thought too that shopping was better in Fort Lauderdale than Orlando so perhaps concentrate on just enjoying the parks in Orlando. Some shops in Orlando are a little too wise for the tourists and you may just get caught out moneywise - so caveat emptor as they say - do your research first. Also Key West is really lovely - do go and visit if you can- a small bit of hike down but no problem in a day. Clearwater fine too - was there three years ago but just feel if you are free and (relatively!) single, you might get more bang for your buck on the East coast. But really, it is a great holiday and wherever you go, you will just have such a great time.
