| Oh no! I'm off to Florida in a few months time and just got flashed speeding this morning on my way to work. Does anyone know how 3 points will affect getting car hire? Please tell me I won't be reduced to getting busses!

| If its youre first time you can do normally opt to do a driving course with a few others with a police drive instructor on a specified date, it cost around 80 quid , but then you dont get the points.

| It was Budget - we got a small car which was a Chrysler PT Cruiser for about £85 for the week including taxes, CDW etc. This was April 07. There was a bit of a queue to get the car but returning it was so easy - just noted the mileage on the envelope they gave us, noted the fuel level and posted the keys into their return letterbox at the airport.

| Whenever I have hired a car my licence has never been removed from its sleeve so they wouldn't know if I had points on there or not.
