TSA approved locks

Postby jackieblack on Sun Jan 20, 2008 8:54 pm

Last time we went we didn't bother with these. One of our cases was opened on the return journey, which meant it was unlocked for the rest of the journey. Luckily nothing was missing, although we always keep valuables in our hand luggage.

Do we only need these locks for travel OUT of the USA. Would it be cheaper to buy them in the US? or should we buy them in the UK before we go and use them on the outward journey as well?

Where is the cheapest place anyone has found them? Is it worth spending extra on the dial type rather than the ones with keys? I need 6 so looking at about 30 to buy here from what I've seen on various websites.

Any advice gratefully receieved.

TSA approved locks

I only ever use these locks.

I think I paid 4 in Matalans and the in-laws paid 5 in TJ Hughes, if you have those shops near you.

On my Florida trip last year, I didn't realise my case had been searched until I got home and found a piece of paper in my case telling me it had been searched. The lock was still locked... if you know what I mean.

3 holidays later and they are still as good as new.
