Many thanks

| Agree with the other poster in that Krakow is a better option. However, Warsaw still has a lot to offer and I guess it depends what you're looking for.
The sights worth seeing in Krakow can easily be navigated by foot but Warsaw is more of a sprawling city so taxi, trams and buses are your best option.
Warsaw was destroyed by the Nazis and so most of what is there is post 1945 architecture....but not everything !
Places worth seeing :-
Old Town
Lazienki Palace & Park
Wilanow Palace
Palace of Culture
Warsaw Uprising Museum
There are more but that should keep you going.
As for centrally located hotels then do a google search. Apartments can also be found at VERY competitive rates (some even on the main market square).

| We went to Warsaw for a weekend in Sept 07, I really enjoyed it we stayed in MDM Hotel in Constitution Square. Hotel was very reasonable and very comfortable in a central location with trams/buses and metro just outside. We were in Krakow as well which is a beautiful city. I would return to Warsaw and stay at same hotel.

| We visit Krakow 2- 3 times a year, because of the proximity to Tatra Mountains and we both love walking.
Last year we have visited a Warszawa, but after a few hours in the Old Town we decided to go back to Krakow!!! We found out that Krakow is more compact and has more things to see. I think we forgot that after the war all was left from Warszawa were ruins, so everything that you see was rebuild from rubble.
I think you have to go outside the town to see places of interest so hiring a car is a must.
