 Hi! Welcome to Watchdog. It depends on your age group where you may want to go. The Algarve is great..something for everyone here. Albufeira is the main resort..Old Town and new. The Old Town has loads of restaurants and bars (music and otherwise) and great beaches, a very long one thats goes on to Praia da Oura and the Fishermans Beach. Praia da Oura is the 'new' part of Albufeira, which boasts 'The Strip'..a long, slightly uphill, stretch of road, with every bar and restaurant you can think of! The beach is lovely, but an uphill climb coming off it. Most resorts in the Algarve are built into the cliffs. But if you want to go further afield, there are many reviews here to help. Have a great holiday, wherever you go!

Hi Hilbil

Hello and welcome to holiday watchdog.

Obviously, a charming, refined fun loving couple like you should take a cruise, visit four or five countries while staying in the same room [cabin] chose the one you like best to go back to.

Ok I am biased because no one comes to talk to me in cruises.
Cruising is like 'Being in the Garden of Eating'

Hi there,

It depends what you are looking for. The south of France is quite nice, and has something to offer to everyone. You could try emailing holidaywithjacanddave@hotmail.com They're a lovely couple, who have got a caravan in a coastal resort not far from Nice, I forget the name - I think it is Boulouris (but I have been there fleetingly), but I do remember that Matisse used to paint there. And you can see something called the Isle D'Or from the caravan. Not far from Saint Aygulf, and Agay. The caravan site has its own beach. Jac and Dave even keep board games in the Caravan... :)

If you want to try something different, try going to Berlin. It's got great food from all cultures, unrivalled nightlife, and some excellent zoos and parks. It's also a bike friendly city if you're into that kind of thing. Contrary to popular belief, you can also organise a dead cheap independent holiday there. I regularly manage to get several days in berlin where everything costs me less than 150 - try ao hostels on Zoological garden. Dunno if that is your kind of thing however.

Hope this helps
