we have just arrived back from the hotel maritim costa verde in gaurdalavaca cuba, it was a late booking so we didn't know where we was staying until we landed, we were very pleased when we saw the hotel, although its not a very large complex it was certainly very well run and friendly. the bar staff are so full of fun, if you get there say hello to julio( number one ).there isn't alot round the hotel and guardalavaca it self is only small, but the beaches are lovely with plenty to do, the snorkelling is very good just outside the hotel. the little train ride was very good you could go into the country side on sunday and see a bit more how the locals live. we went to a couple of the bar staffs houses, where we was made more than welcome with lobster dinners on both occasions.excellent holiday alround plenty to do, food and drink was also plentyfull, first week of the hols the weather wasn'nt very good but the staff entertained us,but that was in feb, and when the sun did come out was it hot.
we are interested in going to margarita the hotel we looked at was the pueblo caribe in player tirano, i was wondering if anyones been ,would it be suitable for young children at this hotel, is the sea calm and whats the weather like at christmas.

Re: cuba and margarita
We have just come back from Margarita...we stayed in Playa caribe at a hotel called LTI Costa Caribe. We had the best time ever. The sea was very choppy but maybe it will change soon...who knows. You would love Margarita.
