Drinking Age + ID

Postby Jackpot on Thu Jul 10, 2008 12:03 am

Hi, I'm 17 and in 3 weeks i'm going to zante and i've been told that Rescue in Laganas is a must go to when im there... i've been told that the drinking age over there is 18 but they count birth as your first birthday, making me 18 over there.. i just want to confirm that's correct? UK i'm 17 but over in zante i'm seen as 18 and am legally allowed to buy alcohol?

If so i'm just a bit curious as to what identification i can use to prove my age, as of yet i only have a passport which i won't be taking out with me for obvious reasons lol. I was planning on getting a driving provisional but that would take a while to come through.

I assume over in Zante they are fairly laid back, i could be alcohol in spain when i was 14 and i've been told in Zante their very much the same and i have no doubts i will probably get served no problems in pubs and places but big popular clubs like Rescue are getting me a bit concerned, i really want to visit this club but I don't want to get there and find i need to have ID, especially when i'm of legal age and cannot prove it!

So could someone please point me in the direction of what i could use for ID or where i could purchase some sort of ID which would be ready for me to use within the 3 weeks i have left.

Thanks
Jackpot

If you are of legal age over there you could try scanning the back page of your passport and carry that.

I would check with your travel agent or a Zante web-site to find out before you go,
