Hi!
I am planning my Honeymoon during the month of Dec.09 and Maldives is one of the shortlisted place.
First, is it OK to spend 13-14 days there? Or should I club it with Dubai.
Secondly, I wanted to know, on an average, how much does a drink - vodka, whisky- cost you at various resorts?
Thirdly, can we purchase alcohol from the market and get it to our rooms?
I am from Kolkata, India.
Thanks
Anurag

Hi Anurag,
Maldives is an amazing honeymoon destination. However, I am not sure if there would be enough activities to keep you occupied for a fortnight.
Maldives are beautiful small islands and each island is occupied by a single resort...so you wont have 'places to visit' there.
You can ask the management and enoll yourself for different activities such as night fishing, scuba diving, visit to male, snorkelling...or else simply enjoy the sun and the sand!
Like everything else in Maldives, drinks are expensive too! But you will have no choice since liquor is banned in Maldives and you can not take your own alcohol to your rooms. Its only allowed to be served at the resort bars.
But that should be fine...its your honeymoon and you can splurge!
I advice thet you stay in Maldives for a week or 10 days and club the remaining days with dubai.
We (on our honeymoon) stayed at the Jacuzzi Beach Villa of Bandos Island...it was heavenly! Good luck! :)

yes have been there and was surprised at the price of drinks way higher than necessary which is why you cannot buy your own its a tourist trap.

Branded drinks are not normally included in all inclusive packages this is because of the import costs. You can upgrade but that's yet another additional cost.
