false accusations of withdrawl of deposit

Hello we recently returned from a holiday in Mallorca through owners direct. I have been falsely accused of leaving vomit and jam in the apartment which is totally untrue. They have no proof, it is the caretakers word against the six in our party. They claim some towels were ruined as a result of inadequately cleaning up the vomit. There was definitely no vomit in the apartment and they also claim extra cleaners had to be drafted in. This is false as I left the apartment spotless. The owner and caretakers stories are not the same so I feel I have been conned out of £100. I am more than happy to take this to court but is there other avenues I should be pursuing to help stop other people having similar problems?

The first thing I would do is ask Owners Direct if they have any photographic evidence to back up their claim. The answer is probably 'No' even if their version of events is true, but it's worth asking. I would also ask OD if there is any history of this owner having 'problems'.
In a situation of one persons word against another it's difficult. The owner has your deposit so they are in a position of strength.
