Getting married in Cyprus 2010

Hi
We're hoping to get married in Protaras next year in August but need some help as the wedding packages I've looked at from the tour operators just seem too formal. We're looking for something really informal such as getting married on the beach and having our reception in a local taverna, hopefully one doing a traditional Greek night. There's only 11 of us coming and two are children so we really want to keep it low key. Does anyone have any ideas about where to have the ceremony, any recommendations of good tavernas and any apartments that are child friendly and not too expensive (as we'll be paying for everyone!!) Hope someone can help, Thanks

Hi

We're getting married next year too! June 10th!! We're staying at the Vangelis Hotel Apartments and getting married at the Paralimni Town Hall - Cant wait!! We decided to use Aisle of Love Weddings as they come high recommended from a couple of wedding forums, and they have been brilliant - saved me so much money already! As like youself we havent got lots of poeple coming with us, just family (9 of us in total). Send them an email I sure they will be able to help you or at least give you some advice. Their email is info@aisleoflove.co.uk

Hi Lou

Thanks so much for your reply, I've looked at their website and will probably get in touch with Kerry in the next few days. Hope you're planning is going well, I'm still having a nightmare finding somewhere for the ceremony as the hotels are all charging a fortune just to hold it there! Still I'm sure I'll find something that we all like!
Thanks for your help

Hi Angela,

i've also heard good things about Kerry, there's quite a few good reports of a few of them. My hotel arranged mine mostly but I chose my own photographer and then i'm going to my friends next year at garden of eden in ayia napa. It looks wonderful. I think their site is www.gardenofedencyprus.com and the photographer is www.carmentyler.co.uk the garden of eden are planners as well and have arranged it for her. I can't wait to go back!

Hi

I can safely say that you cannot marry on the beach anywhere in cyprus but you can marry within the grounds of the hotel which overlooks the beach

Palm beach is a lovely hotel and is one of the top hotels in Larnaca if not the whole island. Just before you enter the beach there is a little beach bar and before that is an open area restaurant, most couples opt for that. Maybe it is a new company policy that they require over 20 people to be able to have a BBQ. I would continue to try to contact the hotel and maybe something can be worked out

My niece is getting married at Nissis Beach hotel in September and is having a BBQ after the ceremony. It looks fantastic there are around 20 of us going over.

Went Protaras in May many of the local restaurants cater for wedding parties. There were also a lot of limmo,s flying around so I reckon that wont be a problem. Look at Fig Tree Bay its stunning
