The future Mrs TM and I get hitche on April 24th next year. We were looking at going to India but apparently it is the start of the rainy season. D'Oh!

We wish to avoid the usual honeymmon traps of cancun/maldives etc and we like places with a lot of history and culture as well as a beach.

Feel free to let your imaginations run wild.

How about Oman? - it is still relatively unspoiled compared to places like Dubai, they have amazing forts and bazaars and you can see giant turtles on the beaches. Or you can catch a dhow around the Mussandam which has stunning scenery. In April the weather shouldn't yet be too hot and I beleive they have some pretty impressive hotels now for a bit of luxury.

You could twin a safari with a beach stay. This is what I did and had an amazing time. We did a 5 night safari from nairobi combined with a beach stay just outside Mombasa.

Thanks Guys. After much deliberation we have settled (we think) on India. Going at the end of April for a week of Tiger spotting up country followed by a week on a beach somewhere (rainy season permitting).

If anyone has been to any of the National Parks out there and has advice on where is the best place for seeing the big orange fluffy cats I would be much obliged.
