Hi,

I've read a lot of advice saying to exchange money in sharm rather than in the UK. I went into a travel agent just to get a little bit of money for the first day or 2. She told me that it isnt cheaper to exchange money in Sharm any more and to exchange it in the UK. Is she telling the truth? She said its a new thing this year whereby theyre not allowed to do it cheaper.

Even though she was 0% comission i was losing out quite a lot compared to the exchange rate so I'd rather not!

thanks

As far as I know it's still better to exchange money in resort. I toured Egypt in Jan & Feb & it was def better to change there.
I can't believe some of the things that I have recently read about travel agents & their "advice".
I have a friend there atmo & she is changing her sterling out there, another friend has just returned & he did the same.
Sites to check the rate over there:
