It seems that this organisation is advertising on Sky and possibly elsewhere offering advice to people who are trying to get rid of their timeshares, points &c.

Please post here if you have responded to one of their ads.

Where was the ad and what did it say?
What are you trying to sell?
What advice did they give?
Did they put you in touch with anyone and if so who?
If there has been an outcome, what was it?

Please reply only to the above - general comments about ITRA and associated companies not needed or wanted.

Has any one heard of "International Timeshare Resale Association", I have to day been contacted by someone who won’t to set me up with a meeting? With regards to help me dispose of my time share. Is it a setup to extract more money?

Hi 2ndfrustrated
If you look at the various threads on HW you will find numerous comments re resale of timeshare and how people have lost money. Many of the threads have now been locked as comments/advise is just being repeated over and over again but threads are still readable. If it was a cold call it usually equals a scam. Never pay money upfront. Ask yourself how did they know you have something to sell and get your `phone number? Suggest you read the locked threads. One to look at is: http://forum.holidaywatchdog.com/Timeshare-&-Holiday-Clubs-Club-Class-Concierge-Thread-8556-Page-146.html - 41.5kb.

I strongly advise everybody not to use ITRA and their associate ETOO. To deal safely use RDO and one of the resale companies who have signed upto their Code of Conduct. That way you wont't be ripped off.

I have posted several similar requests for information on various companies offering to buy our holiday club membership. I have never taken any of them up thanks to this site and have received several calls since my last post which I have just told to get lost. However today I have had another and wonder yet again if it could be genuine.
Excalibur Sales and Marketing, Algarrobo Holiday Park Village, Malaga, Spain.
Tel no 0871 231 1241 Representative David Austin
Please does anyone have any information. Thank you.

Hi EdithMinnie
I would stick with your original answer and tell them to get lost. Cold call = scam. Ask yourself how did they, and all the other cold callers, get your phone number and know you had a holiday club membership you might want to sell? Why is it a high payment phone number and not a spanish number?

Next time they call ask them for a deposit to prove they are genuine and to ensure their buyer does not pull out.

Tell them you are happy for it to be with your solicitor.

I have been contacted by these people on behalf of a so called "owners club" and invited to go to one of their offices to join up with a legal "class action" re. the exhorbitant increase in maintenance fees on my timeshare. They failed to send letter of details by post or EM. Having read about ITRA/ETOO on the web, I am not keeping my appointment (at present anyway).
