Hi all,
Just really want to know about alcudia...is it rowdy/lairy? All we want is a few bars, restaurants, beach, nice places on harbour etc and just like a chilled out holiday really - but dont want blackpool in the sun lol
Also what about cala d'or or cala bona as these are the 3 resorts we were thinking of?
Cheers!

How about puerto pollensa its not got the blckpool with sun atmosphere that parts of alcudia has plus its only a 10-20 mins bus journey into alcudia if you wanted.
Its def a more relaxed beach resort.

Can Picafort is quiet but has plenty of sea front bars and restaurants and has a superb beach. The marina has very good restaurants that do full meals or Tappas.
It is not far from Alcudia and a short bus ride or taxi ride will take you there in 15 minutes.
Can Picafort is as noisy or as quiet as you want it to be.

Hi,
Where you go for what you say you want depends on the time of year, we like similar to what you say you like but have even done Magaluf in early season (May) and not been overawed ... swimming out to the island highly recommended for the confident swimmers, just don't expect a breather on it because the seagulls will dive bomb you thinking you're after their young!
We have also done a villa close to Puerto Pollensa (as previously said near Alcudia)Puerto Pollensa probably a better choice if you want that part of the island.
Cala Millor/Cala Bona area which we have also done might also suit what you describe, but probably best for a harbour and a few bars as you describe and definitely not 'Blackpoolish' I would recommend the Cala Dor area. This has a good pedestranised restaurant/bar/shopping area, lager louts are an endangered species and has a great Marina area too. Cala Egos and Cala Ferrera are within reasonable evening walking distance too so any of the three could be a place to stay. If you like snorkelling then this area is pretty good for that too, Cala Gran beach (central Cala Dor) is probably my favourite for that but other beaches in area give reasonable snorkelling too.
The other option of course is to go to Minorca, the most commercialised resort there is probably Calan Blanes which would be closest to the Blackpool description, but generally the whole of the rest of the island would not disappoint.
Have a great time!
