Hi,

Me and my partner are going to stay in the Palmar Beach Resort in Belle Mare for our Honeymoon. I was wondering if anyone had been there and if so what it is like for a honeymoon?

Also is there much to do and see in Belle Mare? Is it s resort with bars and restuarants?

Thanks.

Hi david,
seem that u write this msg for nearly 5 month, may be u already consume your holliday in mauritius, :D but question of politeness i will answer to your enquiry. It's true that the east coast of mauritius is known to be often windy because of the sea breeze called "South East Trade Wind," but i admit without hesitation that bellemare is an wonderful region. The white beaches of belle mare plage stretch endlessly along the coast, The turquoise blue lagoon offers the very best in diving and snorkeling.... seem to be like in fairytale. Bars and restaurant are available at the hotel.... i think that one of them is called "Hibiscus" but not sure about the name!!!
Unfortunately apart his amazing beaches there is not so much to do in the region of belle mare. but you must keep in mind that mauritius is an small island. i personally take around 1hr30 in the car to travel from the east to the west of the island and maybe 1hr45 from north to south. so whatever the trip u intend to go, it can be done easily.
Hope that i answer a bit of ur enquiry

Many thanks Eric.

I'm not going until September so this information is of great use.

Other than in the hotels, are there other bars and restaurants? Is there a village or resort centre?

Thanks

Dave
