Perks for booking a suite
3 posts • Page 1 of 1
I'm taking my Mother on a cruise in September. She has never been on one before so I've booked a suite on the Mediterranean Spirit Island Escape. Does anyone know if we get any perks for booking a suite? It says Captains Rewards on the confirmation - what does that mean? Thanks.

Hi Redbird,
Welcome to HW and in particular the cruise forum.
Sorry I can't tell you about suites on the Island Escape as it is some years since we cruise with them, and things change so quickly.
However we can say that all or at least some of the following should apply.
Priority boarding and disbarkation.
Set tables in dinning room if requested.
Basket of fruit in cabin.
Bottle of sparkling wine.
Daily Menu left in cabin.
Some cruise lines a Butler and meals in cabin if requested.
Early morning tea/coffee and breakfast in cabin.
One meal for two in Specailty Resuarant
Photo with captain on formal nights.
Extra luggage allowance.
Pre-booked seats on flights.
Some of these do not happen on Island as they are mostly casual dining with no set meal times.
The Captains rewards is like any other cruise line reward scheme, bit like Tesco and M & S points, the more you spend the more points you get and climb the ladder to receiving the perks. Normally you will need to complete 51 days at sea to reach next level then say Elite with Princess 121 days. to highest level.
Hope this helps have a great cruise.

Thanks for the reply tenpin. I didn't really have a say in the choice of cruise as we are joining my Uncle who goes on the same cruise every year. I personally would have picked a better one. Anyway, I've just checked my paperwork again and not only have I booked a suite but I've booked the Grand Suite so hopefully will be nice and we will be treated well.
