Sydney is a good place and going with your family is just a great idea. While Australia is a "big country" the urban hubs of Sydney and Melbourne and their surrounding countryside can provide guests with days or weeks of wonderful experiences. Within two hours of Sydney you can be in the beautiful World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains, enjoying quaint villages or exploring a fabulous wilderness of this National Park area. If your desire is for fine food and wine then look for Hunter Valley tours. For the accommodations there, I would advice you to go with http://www.resortsunited.com/resorts united apartments and resorts which are independently owned and operated and are located in some of the most beautiful destinations.

As tourists, you can have an unmatched holiday by being a part of few of the most awaited Sydney events like New Year's Eve, The Sydney Festival, The Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

New Year's Eve:

The celebrations organized here are simply spellbinding and make it one of the most awaited events in Sydney. The fireworks show includes displays of pyrotechnics around the Sydney Harbour and near the Harbour Bridge.

The Sydney Festival:

This popular arts festival is held annually in the month of January with the objective of popularizing arts at a global level. Acclaimed international artists from all corners of the globe are invited to exhibit their work or perform here.

The Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras:

Dedicated to and organized by the gay and lesbian communities in Sydney, this event initially began as a street protest. Eventually, it grew into a huge celebration comprising a range of events which culminate in the Mardi Gras Parade in Darlinghurst on the first Saturday of March every year.
