Greek Islands - Which One?

Hi,

I was just wondering what would be the best Greek Island to go to this Summer at around early July time?

I will be going with 5 other girls and we want somewhere that has culture, a nice beach, friendly bars. We definately don't want to end up somewhere where the street is permenantly covered in puke and full of youfs! ha!

Anyway, we just want somewhere chilled out and friendly for a week that will not break the bank!

Hi there,

I would whole heartedly recommend Stalis in Crete, it is a lovely place, the people are friendly and it is a chilled out place with lovely bars and restaurants and lots of nightlife without it being wild and yobbish!!

Me and my friend went in May and it was superb, we were looking for a chilled out holiday with nightlife (but not wild!) we found everything we were looking for in Stallis...

The people are wonderful and friendly, everything is just spot on there ooo and it's not mega expensive either - really good value for money!!!

Maybe worth a look in - one word of warning -if you want a chilled hol and decide 2 try Stallis do not go allocation on arrival or go for Malia as Malia is the nightclubbing part of the island which is rowdy and everything u don't want!!! avoid like the plague if ur after a quiet chilled hol!!!!

Stalis IS nice, Kefalonia, Kos or Rhodes are worth a look also.

You'll probably get more choice re price at the larger islands e.g. Crete, Rhodes and Corfu. Don't go too cheap or we'll be reading about your holiday from Hell! Check around, Rhodes has some very good deals for Ixiia/Trianda area, and it's only a short bus ride to Rhodes Town.

hi i went to corfu last june/july and it was great the night life was calm but worth it we went to st georges south which is a quiet area with kavos down the road and kavos is a more clubbing. The only things is kavos is a 18-30 area so staying just outside is probably wise. I would recommend corfu. We're off to kos next month but ive heard its a bit more expensive and crete also.

I'd say Skiathos is worth a look fantastic beaches, good bus service if you don't fancy driving and a choice of nightlife in Skiathos Town.

having been to Corfu/Rhodes/Zante/Crete/Kos over the years i agree with Bluesman that Skiathos is the best and would recomend Jimmys studios on the resort Plattanias,good restraunt fantastic big beach over the road the sea is crystal clear perfect for snorkling the resort has few pubs no bbom boom music or puke,if you wanted a bit of nightlife hop on the bus and in 20mins you are in Skiathos town where you will find livelier pubs and nightclubs the island boasts over 60 beaches so hirer a jeep and explore
