What's the best currency to take to the Dom Rep, is it best to take US dollars, sterling or pesos, or a mixture of all 3. We are going all inclusive so won't need too much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I would say take enough pesos to see you through the first couple of days, until you get your bearings. The rest in US$ cash (small notes) and US$ travellers cheques (depending if you are taking a large amount). Check that your travel insurance covers you if taking cash, if so take cash up to that limit. Travellers cheques are replaceable the minute you purchase and sign them.
Hope that helps

Us Dollars are best. When we went we only took $ and travellers $ cheques. The DR peso isn't much use.
